A company called SportExe is developing an artificial turf that would have fiberoptic lights in the turf to allow advertising and lining for football, soccer, just about any sport. Instead of painting end zones at the Meadowlands, a computer can change them from Giants blue to Jets green in seconds. A real yellow line could instantly be put in for first downs, etc.

Just imagine how it could be used for indoor football and soccer.

Might be a few years away but think of the possibilities...the field could be a virtual TV for replays, commercials, bikini contests, you name it...

Very nifty... too bad Art Modell owns 40% of Sportexe, so I'll have to be rooting against him on this one. ;)

Interesting note in that first article; I was unaware that the two biggest artificial "in-fill" field manufacturers are both Canadian companies.

Yeah, that game where some british chick (along with his wife) has an ankle that's allergic to FieldTurf.
