It wouldn't surprise me if the guy who owns the Texas teams and a few in the PNW ends up with another team in Washington....so Yakima sounds like a solid "rumor".

Back when I didn't feel as pizzed off about
the af2 as I do these days , the Peoria Pirates
were my favorite af2 team .They always
will be the ruler of the river.
I have heard rumors about a possible relocation
of a Texas based team. That would be cool for
the fans of the old Pirates name.(me)
And the conditions are right for the af2.
That is to say United Indoor Football said they
"hope to see new viable UIF ownership in
the Peoria market by the 2008 season.” source (http://www.unitedindoorfootball.com/news/?id=8212)
What more reason does the af2 need than that ?
I ask you ?
So... right now. I don't feel anything is concrete in Peoria
.....call it a hunch....my chiropractor does.
I will say this , the person who brings the Pirates back had
better understand the persona and essence of Pirates
af2 football. Pirates always come to play
There is a coach whom I know could lead the team to many
victories and even the championship , but last I heard
he was under contract to another team so I won't drop
any names.
Bottom line ... if they revive the IFL/af2
Champion Peoria Pirates , it doesn't matter
what league , just do it right.

Which I doubt Austin's owners can do.
And I doubt that a UIF group would be able to get a lease at Carver, given its SMG operation.

Yeah, and he'll be the coach. They may be part of the Empire now, but I assure you that they better do everything right or I will call them on it.

Coach Cowdrey is a friend of mine and a great coach. Every where he goes he finds away to make it to the championship game. Many people dont like his personality, but I say most winners have an ego and a attitude to go with it. They actually have a nickname for him: "The Prince of Peoria". If they come back in the league, better believe he will have first cracks at the job.

It's amazing how much turmoil and turnover there has been in other leagues, yet you still find fault with AFL and af2. You need to find some new material - calling the AFL/af2 the empire gets really old and tiresome on these boards.

Yes I mean Coach Cowdrey.

I consider him a friend and confidant.
He KNOWS when he tells me something,
it goes no further than my ears ,
unlike some of his loose lipped , egomaniacal ,
associates of dubious distinction.
If the story is true , than no one is more
surprised than I that I haven't heard from
the ONLY man who can not only save Peoria
Indoor Football , but return it to the prominent
status it once held in P-town.
don't forget ...
Pirates Always Come To Play.

I have to beg to differ my friend. :)
I myself can NEVER get enough of the
minor league football nazis aka the `deutsch'
being called the Empire.
What frosts my azz is when the word "Evil"
isn't immediately preceeding .
Next time young Mr rams80 , get it right.
it's `Evil Empire'. Got it ?
Also, while I'm at it .....
One can NEVER find enough of "fault" in the
AFL and af2 . I've been following since 1987.
It's pretty f*ck*d up.
I know.

They're one of the reasons why I didn't have a football team to support this summer, and I'll be damned if I sit back and watch the new team turn into another Fort Wayne or be neglected because MacGregor needs Scientific Notation to figure out how many teams he owns. Failure this time torches Peoria as a market for good, and I really don't want that to happen.

Above is today's article. According to it, Cowdrey's the coach, although Eminian has been known to be wrong in the past.

come on now ramses , you know that the new ownership
in Peoria will be the biggest and bestest yet , every
cloud has a silver lining and when it rains , it rains
Peoria Pirates pennies from heaven.
They'll break the bank in Peoria, I tells ya'.
Just think how glad Bloomington will be when they
hitch their wagon to that star on the rise , sight unseen.
The pointing and laughing will be well worth
the sitting and waiting.

What exactly do you fault them for? Playing their games as scheduled? Finishing the season? What is so screwed up about it? And how is it so evil? Last time I checked the AIFA and UIF weren't exactly squeaky clean. So there's no strength to your argument.

At least the AIFA and UIF don't force existing organizations out of arenas so they can have markets. Can the af2 say that?

So does that mean we can expect the af2 in Lexington for 2008?

I'm sure Adams or MacGreggor would be willing to wheel their freak show into Lexington, Kentucky. I'd bet money that we see af2 in Lex in 2008. Question is, will the af2 wait until there's less than 5 months before the season starts like they did last season. I think we can all agree that most of the teams that the af2 announced during that time last season are the ones who are struggling the most.

Probably, but likely not the Horsemen, and I'm not going to award them the kill based on the article.

I'm pretty sure the Wranglers will drop down to the af2. I also think theres a chance that Laredo will be folded/moved.

It almost sounds like San Diego is going to the AIFA in 2009. Based on how it said "National Indoor League" and waiting for it to built a West Division

Don't bet on it. I don't think there is interest from either side.
