Holy Crap!
The SCL is certainly serious about enforcing the drug policy. I gotta hand it to them. This would be like MLB suspending Barry Bonds and A-Rod!

"August 6, 2007 - The South Coast League of Professional Baseball has suspended South Georgia Peanuts 2B Joey Hooft and OF Doc Brooks for violation of the league’s drug policy."

The saddest part is that these are two players that I would think would be on some scout's "short list" for affiliated ball...:(
Hopefully they will come back better for it, and go on to the bigs.

Yeah what a great drug policy ........ what is really amusing is that early in the year Bradenton's Drew York was suspended for violating the leagues drug policy and there was no mention of it anywhere!

What makes the whole thing a farce is the fact the guy from the league that helped set up the leagues drug policy is also the AGM and Trainer of the Bradenton Juice.

Funny how when one of his own gets suspended no one hears about it!

That is interesting, Kid.
I had heard about the two Aiken players, and of course the two most recent. But that's the first I'd heard about Drew York.
