Well, we made the trip up I-75 last night to Luther Williams Field to take in a Macon Music game. I was part of a group event and we brought 223 people to the game! The announced attendance was 1,984.

Our group met in the pavillion area and we had all-u-can-eat hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, potato salad, along with sodas & water. The burgers and hotdogs were good. The baked beans were just warmed up pork 'n beans, but the potato salad was VERY good!

As we sat and ate before the game, we listened to the live music being performed at the 550 Blues stage at the pavilion. I like this promotion. From the time the gates open at 6pm to 7PM, there is a live band on stage and the music (no pun intended) is very good.

My kids were selected for the plunger toss contest during the 3rd inning. You toss a toilet plunger at a toilet and whoever gets the closest, wins. Gotta love the wacky on-the-field promotions and entertainment in the minor leagues!

During 8th inning, a Music employee came to our group area and was asking if we had a good time and was getting feedback. Nice move.

During the 9th inning, a Music usher came over and asked if we were staying for the post-game fireworks and then proceeded to tell us where the best parts of the park were to watch them. Great job by that usher!

And another very good fireworks show! I did notice that one went off behind the fence during the "grand finale". I hope no one was hurt.

Will post my souvineer stand musings on another thread...

The game was bad if you were a Music fan. It was simple....Bradenton got great pitching and the Music didn't.
The final score was 10-4. Not to mention that it was HOT & HUMID! The flag hung limp in centerfield all night....no air stirring at all. Gotta love August weather in the South.

My wife and kids enjoyed the evening. We talked about it going home. The night and atmosphere was great. The only negative was the outcome of the game and the heat. Neither one the front office staff have any control over.:D

Nice job by the Music last night (off the field, LOL)!
