Why would NBC want it? They probably are going to
focus on a return to football when the NFL contract comes up for renewal. Where did you get this information from, did it come from NBC, or is it just a
rumor.

I don't know about the ABA but they do kneed a tv contract. The world basketball association could get bought buy the world hockey association and both could sign a tv contract with tnt.

Why does one league buying another make TNT want to give a damn?

Unless it's that Female Dodge-Water-Balloon League that came to my mind over the weekend... OK, maybe that's more up the alley of Spike or E!, but that's got some legs... and other things.
