Hey Fan, your Joes just took a series in Macon.
Good, close, relatively low-scoring games. (Our win was only by three), and this morning I see The Joes in fourth place! I'm not sure but isn't that the first time out of the bottom two?
The recent moves were long overdue and I think we're beginning to see the results, now just go do it to the other teams!:infun:

Hey Beetm,
Yeah, I almost felt bad. I still want to see a MUSIC v. PEANUTS finale.
The last time the Joes were not in the bottom two was on May 21, when they were 1-3, and still tied with Bradenton for third place!
Remarkably, this is the first time ever that Anderson has won two series in a row. Any time they won a series until now, they were swept in the next series they played! Now if we can just sweep the Foxhounds we can get a lead in the Palmetto Series (Currently Aiken leads 7-5).
Anderson seems to play Macon pretty tough. Other than a few blowouts by Macon (17-3, 8-0, 8-1), 3 of their 11 games have been decided by 3 runs; 1 game decided by 2 runs; 4 of 11 decided by 1 run.
I didn't hear the final pitch count, but Jan Granado was around 140 pitches before finally coming out of the game. He's up to 87 Ks with 23 Walks in 74 innings.
Things are looking up!

Haven't we been through enough pain this year?
It's still early in the GBL second half of the season, but CHICO with a 3-4 record?!?
What are they doing, playing the second string and resting everybody up for the playoffs, since they won the first half?
Congrats, by the way!

Yeah, that ain't gonna happen on recent form:(
Just got back from The Tunes third loss in four games, with some "good, bad and ugly" news. I'm still trying to figure out the "ugly" I'll maybe post later with it when I figure it out.

Ok,
The Good; Met Mickey Petrich, (good guy, good photographer, took a sneaky pic of me!), and a night at The Ballpark is always good. ;)
The Bad; Some of The Tunes' players need a wake-up call. A pop-up falling right in the middle of four silent players.
The Ugly; Not really, more like just wierd. I was in two minds whether to post this as I'm still not 100% sold on it. Firstly, be aware that we are read more or less on a daily basis by officials and players alike, I was a little surprised, but note the "OSC" link on the league webpage.
Apart from that all I'll say here is that I was told "by an unnamed individual employed by the league" (who said he would deny ever having said it, if asked) that most believe one of our visitors is a current SCL Player; nothing can be proven so that's as far as I'm going right now.
Wierd huh?

Hey Beetm,
Wouldn't surprise me at all. I lurk in the GBL forum from time to time and some of the folks posting include the commish of the league, and at least one general manager.
I know that in at least one of the team offices this forum is read with great interest.
If the league is as wise as I think they are, it would only be natural to get a pulse on the public feelings by reading the posts in this forum. (It makes good business sense to "know your customer")
It would also be natural that the players would read with interest. We all like to see our name in print right? Other than the local newspapers, there's just no place to get good information on indy league ball.
I didn't notice that the SCL had a link to this forum. I've been thinking about suggesting that to the Joes webmaster. I'd like to see all the teams add a link to the forum - and start posting regularly. It would add a level of fun to get to interact with the players

I saw on the transaction wire where the Joes traded RHP Daniel Howard to the Chico Outlaws to complete the agreement for OF Desi Wilson.
