Where's Fan, is he still on his Baseball roadtrip? Some news out of Anderson has changes at the top. (http://www.southcoastleague.com/news/?id=553) It was needed in my opinion, may be the boost they need to start climbing out of the cellar.

Last time I went on vacation, the Joes go on a "winning streak".
Now I come home to a major shakeup. I think it is a good move though. Desi is a heck of a guy, but I think there were some questionable trades made, and some unusual game strategies demonstrated in the first half of the season.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm still confused about the whole deal. I know there are a lot of behind the scenes discussions that led up to this, but essentially you've got two guys taking a lower position. Desi Wilson moves from manager to player. Kash Beauchamp leaves all of his responsibilities at the league office to become a team manager?!?!?!
Game is still going on tonight, but thus far Desi has been up to bat four times. He reached on an error, struck out, reached on a fielder's choice(probably should have been a double play), and just now drew a walk. But that is to be expected. He hasn't played in nearly a year. It will take a while to get the timing back. He made a pretty good throw from RF to home plate to gun down a runner trying to score.
Attendance tonight was announced at 2,096. Biggest crowd in a while. So if nothing else, this move has generated some more interest.
On a personal note, I had a great vacation: Saw the Braves whip the Pirates this weekend. Then saw the Charleston Riverdogs beat Kannapolis twice (South Atlantic League).
Gonna try to see the Joes tomorrow v. the 'Fish, and then up to Greenville next weekend to see the DRIVE play the Riverdogs, before again seeing the Joes play the Music in August.
Oh, yeah, I ALSO heard tonight that the JOEs pitching coach, DALLAS MAHAN, is going to follow Desi Wilson's lead, and start PITCHING again. He is about "95% certain" that he will leave his current job as pitching coach.
What a great Summer

Yeah, The Joes needed something to get a spark, couldn't agree more.

Welcome back Fan!

Desi gets his first hit as a "playa" last night. Hitting a single to score the game winning run. :)

Pitching coach Dallas Mahan activates himself, pitches two innings, gives up a hit and strikes out three batters. :p

GBL transfer Joey Muro blows a save opportunity, giving up a two-run lead in the ninth. But he gets the WIN anyway, due to Desi Wilson's hit in the bottom of the ninth.

Have I mentioned how much I love baseball?

Hey Joes fan....

Great to see Desi producing and the Joes win! Desi was outstanding for us last year....I remember when it was announced that he was retiring to go into managing in the SCL...it was noted in the newspaper here that his playing rights for 2007 were still held by the Outlaws....has that come up at all with his activation? Perhaps the two teams are working out a trade or something at the end of the season....just wondering if you heard anything.

Also you have a great new manager in Kash Beachum....we saw a lot of him in the first year of the GBL as he stepped in to help the Japan Samurai Bears first as a coach and then as the manager when Warren Cromartie was suspended for the rest of the season....he turned those sorry Bears around and they almost broke the indy record for wins by a travel team...hope he does the same for the Joes!

Go Outlaws!

Hey Maniac!
I haven't seen that bit of info in any of the announcements about Desi playing again. If Chico didn't know before, they will soon.
