Great job this year guys, all your wins came against expansion teams and at home. If you could have just got that one road win, who knows, 9-0 could have been a possibility. With better home gate numbers you would have got the "championship game" there. That lose, looking back has to hurt. Boy how sweet that win was for us Shockwave fans. But hey,.. at least you got to stop in Vegas on that bus ride back. Oh ya that was when they had their team MVP James Jones, and an expansion team still beat them. Better luck next year in the AIFA, and have fun on all those long bus trips, since there is no teams near you.

Why so much hate? Who in the NIFL (owners, coaches, players) didn't know they were getting into a a$$ league this past season? You get what you pay for. Suck it up.

I just want to keep this at the top of the list for rapid/casper to see, and remind them why they played their playoff game on the road. LOL

It wasn't a playoff game! it was just another game, with less meaning than a regular season game. Actually it's more like preseason game for the AIFL!

That's it congrats for winning the PRESEASON game of the 2008 AIFL!

Go Wyo!

I wanted to congratulate you guys from SD on your post-season game....oh wait...you aren't going to have one.
Maybe you should call Tri-Valley back and tell them you are sorry for telling them not to come on the 14th and you would play them next weekend for the NIFL title.
The fans of Wyoming and Fayetteville have moved on, you guys need to do the same.

Witty reply....make fun of that fact that we were in the game that you were not invited to.

SD is still in the NIFL. Or, at least they haven't been kicked out yet. Why not schedule a game with the 4th best team in the league? Call it a championship. Just pay to get the team to SD, give them half the gate, and get it on.

Would that be Bmt at 6-2? Only Losses were to SD twice

Casper fans i don't think you get it ....that game down in san diego when we beat you and took away your only shot of hosting that so called championship, made our season. We still played more games than you..
big deal no playoffs...i know for a fact this hurt the owners mike and argeri lol
you should have seen them they were crushed, like someone stole their dog.

I love the fact that you called it exactly what it was a INVITE! So I guess it was a invitational? Not a Playoff game or anything like that!

So again congrats on losing the preseason AILF game!

What's the over/under on how long it will take a couple of San Diego posters to get over this?

I will say two weeks before they realize that this banter only means they are trying to desperately cling to their first season with the NIFL; thus (unsuccessfully) trying to legitimize the league.

Maybe sooner if people stop taking the bait.

I see how crushed Richard is...the newspaper says he is deep sea fishing in Hilton Head this week. Must be tearing him apart.

Hmmm... the NIT has a champion... that's an invitational tournament. Big Time college football self-proclaims a champion, even without a playoff, set schedule, mandatory # of games, etc. In fact, the titles are awarded by popular acclaim.

Get that. Poor 13-0 Boise State got left out. But they were Fiesta Bowl Champions.

Wyoming and Fayetteville decided to create a post-season game, a la college football, for two great teams to face eachother,... gave it a name, sold a sponsorship, and the winner was declared champions of it.

San Diego, meanwhile, sits in the corner sobbing uncontrollably. "It's not fair, it's not fair."

Get over it. Your owner got suckered into the NIFL, felt he was still in the NIFL, and while still in the league demands to play non-NIFL teams (remember, Wyo and Fville were kicked out) for a NIFL championship game.

Only NIFL championship game can be is if it's two NIFL teams playing in it. San Diego... and... well. That's why there is no Indoor Bowl this year.

...and felt they were in the NIFL after being a pirate, no less.

If this is what it smells like, the San Diego ownership has a lot to answer for. It smells like San Diego is trying to remain in a league that by rights should be dead.

The San Diego ownership has nothing to answer for! They did what they thought was best for this franchise and city. It's not their fault that this league emploded! They were one of 4 or 5 who actually played games and paid their players.
Not only paid their players but gave them gas money and gave them food after practices and games.

So this is how a quality franchise actually functions!

Thank you Shockwave!

And why are you guys on the San Diego kick, I thought this thread was here to laugh at the Wyoming team that lost home field to an expansion team.

Wyoming....lol.... same ol story every year, must be the front office.

If this league was this unstable even from last year, why haven't there been post on here from then? And if so why were the so called established teams i.e wyoming and fayettville still here in the begining of the season? Those are better questions. What were they promised or told? Please no speculation! Someone inside these franchises need to fill us all in.

I not backing the league just my team!

There have been posts here since then! Look back, they're still here. You'd have to ask the few established teams that stayed, versus the many that bolted, why they remained in the NIFL, but most of them will tell you they made a mistake. Who cares what they were promised or told? None of it came to fruition. The NIFL Broadcasting Network? The fan on the red carpet? The Hattiesburg Playmakers, Winston-Salem Wildcats, Fort Worth Sixers, etc.? None if it was ever more than promises, and none of it should have been believed. I've talked with many inside the NIFL franchises this season, and they'll freely admit they never should have believed any of it. There's no need to throw them under the bus, they'll own up to it.

Are you kidding me? Look back to the posts around the time of last year's post-season. We have been basically repeating ourselves with predictions that have come true for the past year.

Even then many of us were criticizing those teams for planning to come back.

Casper was promised that the league would build a region of expansion teams to play in Colorado. Just like S.D. was promised an existing team in Washington (Tri-Cities) along with a bunch of expansion teams in California and Nevada. I don't know what was going on in Fayetteville.

S.D.'s first indication that things were going into the toilet was when they had to cancel their scheduled pre-season game with Tri-Cities because they left for AF2. This was to be prophetic for not only the rest of San Diego's season but that of the entire NIFL.

Will they ever? It would be very funny (or at least ironic) for the SD mgmt to sign up for AIFA West and have all of this next season when they have to face Wyoming.

Shoot, we were harping on the crappy NIFL in the board version PRIOR to this one that Paul put up. That was seasons ago. If anyone was taken unawares that the NIFL front office sucked, they deserve what they got.

Too bad those are gone...I remember Shiver Jr being on here and him taking offense to me telling him that liars make baby Jesus cry. :)
