The NWPBL (New World Professional Basketball League) is looking to begin next spring.
Another new league is the UBL. (United Basketball League) They are kicking off their season April of 2008.
Do we have to many minor leagues? What is the overall state of minor league basketball in this country??

Many people will say that there are too many leagues in ML basketball. Is there? You can argue it both ways, but it is fairly safe to say there are. The ones that are currently playing or have played are experiencing many issues. The main one being teams not able to complete their schedule and eventually folding. This has been the case for many years, maybe with the exception of the CBA when it was recognized as the official developmental league of the NBA.
The USBL has had a decent run, but went through a tough season this year. They may have staying power, but teams have come and gone over the twenty-plus years. Anyone remember he Wildwood Aces or Long Island Knights?
