This is it, the Guard has 48 hours until they are champs. YAWN...

It's funny how some here act like they would give more respect to an NIFL-SANCTIONED so-called championship game than one in which the teams LEFT the disasterous, horribly run league and contained the two proven best teams in the former league.

Yall can say what you want but we ALL know the deal.

And BTW Gboro fans....ask your boys if it was loud in the House of Pain last week? 47-0 WHEN I WAS THERE. I missed the two away games (one because YALL rescheduled, the other because I knew what the outcome would be) and missed a VERY RARE home game due to prior plans, so this weekend's game was my first one live between Fville and Gboro.....and lo and behold, with GUARDNOIZE right on top of their bench all night long, AFTER THREE CLOSE GAMES AGAINST US, when I come in, yall get NOTHING!!!!!

Keep telling us GUARDNOIZE don't matter bro. Actually, save your breath...They won't be able to hear you if my crew is there anyhow...LOL@yall. Ask Coach Jenkins if the noise got to him...he tried to crawl up into the stands to grab my props but got a friendly reminder that it wouldn't be the smartest move he could make on AWAY turf...LOL...Yeah, come on up here--LOLOLOL....And then ask him (hopefully someone's commented on this already) why he got so frustrated he beat up #17--his own guy--because we got under his skin. And if it wasn't because of us, ask him why the deputies came and begged us not to mention the fight for the rest of the night....LOLOLOL

And don't forget to tell Tito Wooten that I said if he beat up on his opponents the way he beat up on his girlfriends, yall might have won something this season.

Much love to everyone.

We Are The Champions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Champions of what???? Whoever wins the game on Saturday will only be champions of the Guard vs Cavs game. That's it. period. sorry.

The Fayetteville Guard and Wyoming Cavaliers are no longer part of the NIFL.

Why are you still posting here in regards to the curent NIFL teams?

For the honor of indoor fan, I shall start talking about the Pacific International League, United Soccer Leagues Second Division... and whatever else crowds out what should be the deadest of dead carcasses under which this unfortunate board is named.

Hey, two USL-2 teams beat MLS teams in Open Cup matches Tuesday. Give kudos to Richmond Kickers for knocking out LA Galaxy (and so much for every small town's dreams of seeing Becks and Posh this year) and Harrisburg for overturning DC United.

goguard88
07-12-2007, 08:18 PM
I'm not a soccer fan by any means, but that hits home for us, Pounder... the Cary-based (suburb of Raleigh) Carolina RailHawks are one win away from a game that would have been against the Galaxy had they not been upset. Heck, they might have had to move the game to Carter-Finley Stadium on the campus of N.C. State just because David Beckham would have been playing.

Champions of what???? Whoever wins the game on Saturday will only be champions of the Guard vs Cavs game. That's it. period. sorry.
That's the only thing I'll agree with you on. Nobody is champions of anything this season. But besides that, your NIFL-loving is really getting annoying. You've been told several times to cut it out... why do you continue? Trolling, perhaps?

Guardnoize, I know it must be boring not having any Fan Conferences to videotape for Mr. King lately. But, what prompted you to post one of the longest posts in recent memory about a game that was played almost week ago and has nothing to do with your ex-NIFL Championship?

Go Wyo!

Indoor Fan - this is the Championship game of two teams that made it through this year despite CS & CG's crap. These are the two teams that had venues, turf, dasherboards, dasher pads, great fans and community support.
They managed to make it to this game for the benefit of their players, coaches, fans and their corporate sponsors.
That is something that the NIFL couldn't do with their 16 teams or with their league. So whatever this is called and regardless of who wins, it is a great finale for these two teams.

Wrong wrong wrong how can you deny the fact that there was other teams still out there and why is Wyoming desreving? No forget that I have heard it way to much already!

Who ever wins that game (Wyoming or Fayettville) will be just that the winners of that game. No Championship! No Trophy! Not even a asterik! Why because there is no LEAGUE to present such a trophy or crown.
Where was the playoff format? To whom or who is the League that they defending this supposed championship? I have heard the pirate championship to the indoor championship.

Who died and made these two teams king? What other teams or owners agreed that this was the teams to compete in this format?

Someone in the right minds needs to answer these questions logically! Without bias! So please Guard fans and Cavs fans answer these with the knowledge of your head not your heart!

LOFLOLFOLFOLFOLFOLFOL

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your reading comprehension seems great based on this.

But oddly enough, it JUST SO HAPPENS that by default it IS the NIFL Championship because the teams that already annihalated there way through not only all the other teams IN the NIFL they PLAYED but battled the league's instability on top of it.

That makes them champs in and outside the league. PERIOD.

Who died and made them King??? LOL--you just answered your own question...THE NIFL and it's so-called "teams" that these teams both spanked repeatedly to get here. THE ONLY reason this is NOT an NIFL game is because the teams IN IT LEFT THE NIFL, the NIFL didn't kick THEM OUT.

Hell, they are both winners in my book already for that alone.

The team that wins tomorrow is simply better than the team that was better than all the others. Including San Diego.

I can not stand it any longer, I had to write in.... Guardnoize, you act as if you have something to do with the Guard winning, you don't, you are a fan who cheers his team on like EVERY other fan on these boards. You do some show, not for the Guard i am sure, but for your own so called fame and attention that is why you come on here week after week and act as if you have something special to add.

Those players and coaches will go out there week after week and give it their all because they love the game not because of YOU!!! I bet if you asked most of them they could care less about your show. Sure it is great to have the support of a fan like you but there are hundreds of fans like you who do not come on here and promote THEMSELVES like you do.. and please , i know you beat us last year. BOO HOO for US.... Who cares you still lost to Billings, and i would love to see the Guard in the UIF next year..It will not be a cake walk like you had this year. Your owner stayed in the NIFL to win a championship, well you got it but it is the championship of Suckers who stayed in the NIFL, nothing more. I take NOTHING away from your players, they were the ones who came out every week and played they deserve props for that...

What is sad is your TEAM deserved better than what they got. But that rest on the owners not the players.

Ok i feel much better.. So don't bother with some lame smart @ss remark because to be honest i could care less what you think.

I don't care if they call it the 'Donkey Kong Jr. Arcade Championships'. The label means NOTHING...Actually, thats not true. Being labelled as an NIFL game actually means LESS in this case...LOL...The only thing us not associating ourselves with those idiots (is that you too?) does is distance us from incompetence. GG88, don't take anything away from these two teams. We can't help what happened to the league. I agree that it's not the Super bowl, but it's about as close as it gets for the Guard and Cavs this year. If I felt I owed an answer thats the FIRST place I'd go--besides winning more games, communicating properly, being a veteran team and having a website thats up 50% of the time or the credibility to LEAVE A LEAGUE LIKE THE NIFL for starters but I don't feel I owe an answer so i won't offer one.

So now he's trapped--what if Wyoming should BEAT the team that even HE admits deserves one of the two slots--now he's trapped by his own post.

Trapped really? By a post? If that were so then I would already of been trapped. When I said go guard, and then wrote that I hope the Cavs beat the crap out you.

So If the Cavs win then what? Does that make you the 3rd place team in this crazy year? After all The Cavs beat us, we beat the Cavs then they would beat you and that would mean?

So as you see as the world turns in the pirate NIFL!

I'm not trying to take anything away from them, but the truth is, I just can't bring myself to celebrate this as a championship, because it isn't. Yes, I will be rooting for the Guard as always. And I'll be happy if we win, especially against a tough team like Wyoming. But it's just not a championship. Whoever wins should take it like this: celebrate the fact that you beat a worthy opponent, be relieved that the dark days of the NIFL are officially over and that you made it through them, and look forward to 2008, when things will be so much better. That's how I'm going to take it. Again, I'm not trying to rain on the parade or anything. I'm just trying to get everyone to realize why this shouldn't be celebrated as a championship.

Why do you say the FireAntz' title was nothing? Yes, their league is small, but it's an organized league with organized teams. That was monumental for Fayetteville... it ended a half-decade long drought. I can only hope that the Guard has their chance in 2008, but we know how talented they are, so I like our chances.

And yes, I will be there... got the tickets today. I look forward to being back at the Crown and watching an exciting football game against a tough team. Forgive me for line-stealing, but... as always, go Guard! :)

With due respect, you are wrong. Not the Guard's fault...You can't complain how the league operates, then complain that the owner GETS OUT OF IT TOO. If it's not a championship, why buy tickets to this "regular" game and not any of the others this year--does not compute. But you are welcome as always by me.

Come on RightGuard! You go because you love the game and your team! How could even ask such a stupid question.

Okay... let me clear things up here. The reason I haven't been around this season is because of a couple reasons. First, in the early part of the season, I was unhappy with the decision to stay in the NIFL. That left a pretty sour taste in my mouth, because I just knew we'd be in a different league this season, and I was really looking forward to that. Once the whole NIFL takeover happened, I was pleased and thought things were going to turn around. Well, it was a start, but not a whole lot changed. Teams were still not showing up, and the worst part of all was the insanely high blowouts. Look, I want to see the Guard win just as much as anyone... you all know that (especially if you saw me last night... not being in the front row didn't keep down my enthusiasm). And we've had some blowout wins in our history. But none like the ones seen this season. I honestly wouldn't feel right going to a game in which my team won with scores like 91-6 and 108-0. That's just not right. Get 80 to get the wings for everyone, but then take your foot off the pedal and ease up. Throughout all of this, let me make it clear that I never had any hate towards the Guard at any time. I'd never feel like that. I was just kind of disappointed with how things were going... it wasn't right. Thank goodness that it's all in the past, though. I am looking forward to 2008 more than anyone else here. It's so exciting to know that we'll be in a stable league with lots of other teams to compete against, without having to worry about any replacement teams, cancelled games, and all the other BS that we had to deal with in the NIFL. Plus, the teams are pretty close, so that means a ton of opportunities to make trips to road games. So get ready AIFA... the Guard's coming. :D

'88, you and GN have good points, but now that it's over with, and when you both unite in the fight, look out AIFA. Looking foward to next year myself, I hope I can be there as much as this year.

As people hash out who woulda beat who in the NIFL. I find myself wondering. How does the quality of play compare in all these leagues vs each other. Which league is best? With the AIFA, UIF, WIFL, Intense, and yes even the NIFL. And I know there are a few others too ya ya ya.. We all know the level of play in the AFL is a notch or two higher. But how about AF2? How about WIFL vs UIF? NIFL vs AIFA? Just one of things you just cant tell. We almost need a BCS computer or something like they have in College. I can say this..In time The WIFL probably can and will have superior on field play and attract the top talent in the Southeast on this level. Why you ask? Several reasons...1)money ..Player make more than in other leagues..And even more for a win and the franchise player gets even more. 2) Less travel..Less teams and the shorter travel times between cities means more time and home with friends and family and less time in a bus. 3) Paychecks come on time and do not bouce. I know alot of leagues are doing well with this though. 4) Also games get played on time and as schueduled against the teams they are supposed to be played with proper insurance and emergency crews standing by at the venue.
Well ok mostly 1 and 2 will attract the players. I dont think they think much about 4.
