Allan Howell former GM/President of the Ottawa Roughriders, has done jail time for numerous counts of fraud related to sports franchises. His crimes range from petty theft to crimes ranging in the thousands of dollars. He also has an extensive history of other fraud- related charges.

As of November 28, his ABA (American Basketball Association) franchise (The Niagara Daredevils) was defaulted by the league's head office due to more fraudulent activities. The team lasted a total of three games. This is Howell's third attempt at an ABA franchise, but this time he got the farthest ever.

Howell has fled Canada. He missed two court dates and feared facing his fate. Police have now located him in Jamaica.

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Jim Harrick, who once led the UCLA Bruins to an NCAA Championship and later was forced to resign as head man at Georgia has found a new home in the coaching ranks.

On Tuesday, Harrick was given a new lease on coaching as he was hired as head coach of the Vancouver expansion team in the American Basketball Association Harrick, who was fired from UCLA in 1996 just a year removed from winning the NCAA championship, was forced to resign at Georgia among accusations of improper payments to players in addition to academic fraud.

Who cares who Joe Newman is. The fact is the (IMO) poor excuse for a CEO reads the messages on this site. I personally don't care what his screen name is. JOE - I hope you have trouble sleeping at night. I wish you would devote a year of your most devoted, hard-working services to a company and NOT get paid and see, for once, how it feels. I hope your grandkids read this and ask, "Grandpa...how come you didn't make sure people got paid for working for one of your ABA teams?"

Don't give me that, "There's nothing I can do" crap. You could at least....AT LEAST...refrain from allowing owners like this to operate. It wouldn't hurt to offer up a modest compensation package from your off the chart salary that you provide yourself with to people that have been manipulated and exploited (I know - that's far reaching).

And don't think it's because I need the money - I don't need it. It's principle, Mr. CEO. Principle!

Why post here? You should send this stuff to the SEC and the Indiana Attorney General. Posting it here doesn't stop the glue sniffer and Mr. Glass Works from thinking they are running a real team in a real league.
