I just started watching the CFL on Directv this year. How many Import (US) players are allowed on each team?

There is no specific limit to how many imports a team can have on its "roster." However, a CFL team can only dress 42 players for a game and of those 21 have to be non-imports. So the maximum amount of imports the can dress is 21. However, they can have as many imports as they wish under contract, providing they are on their injured list, developmental squad (practice squad) or reserve list (the 4 player list that dressed for the game but were not named to play). So in theory, aside from the injured list which doesn't count, on their 53 man roster, 32 players could be imports.

CFL teams are notorious for hiding players on their injured list. This is usually done because they have a player that doesn't fit into their import ratio, but wish to keep him protected. So the simple answer to your question is 21 can dress for the game and 32 can be on the roster.
