I guess the league was right. It was a good idea to have 10 teams in the playoffs. All the upsets and down to the wire games made it worthwhile. At least we are finally down to the final four where we might see a competitive game, although if the championship is anything other than Port Huron vs. Rochester it will be a huge shock. Is it true that PH had 300 fans tonight? If that is close to the truth the league really has no choice but to send them on the road for the final two weeks. KZOO and Rochester will bring people in for those games.

Agreed. If PH can't bring in more than that it's unfair to other teams to play in an empty building in the playoffs. PH earned home field, but this is a unique situation and the league might want to think about making an exception for next week's game against Kalamazoo. The Xplosion will at least bring in 2,000.

Port Huron earned home field. Flint didn't. They really shouldn't even be allowed to play if they can't come to terms at their own arena.

I will say this - I thoroughly enjoyed the Muskegon-Marion playoff game; it was a fun game...so I didn't mind the 10 teams! :-P But yeah, in terms of actual usefulness, it's probably not.

I just wish we could count on the schedule being accurate each week. Flint Journal said that PH had the Kalamazoo game scheduled for Friday, CIFL says it's on Saturday, and now there are rumors that the game could be played in Kalamazoo? What the hell? How are fans supposed to support this league when they can't even make plans six days in advance because everything could change the day before. Rediculous. I think the Pirates of Anaheim, err, Oakland, err, Port Huron, err, Flint, wherever, should have no say in this game since they went and f...... everything up by moving during the season. Screw them, even if they do win another championship. It will be a hollow one.

According to the Pirates website, the game is scheduled for this Friday the 13th, 7:30pm. Of course, after the fiasco the other night, with an almost empty arena, and people from the Mayhem manning the chains, scoreboard, and doing the announcing, the Pirates may have played their last home game.

You can't possibly believe that.

hmm, they started the season as the Port Huron Pirates. They represented the city, regardless of the financial issues. Then they dart off to another city hoping to make more money.

If the team can't afford to continue to play in the city they started the season in, then they need to have their franchise revoked, because someone either didn't have the funds, or the common courtesy, to see it through.

Plus, the 660 announced attendance in Flint is just what the Pirates deserve.

Teams represent cities?

Is there a residency requirement in the CIFL?

Why not? This isn't 2006 where the league allowed a traveling squad to play a full 10-game slate. If a team isn't able to come to terms to play at their home arena, they shouldn't be playing.

Difficult to disagree with that, especially when the attendance was between 300-660 depending on whose numbers you believe, and 100 of those came from Marion. I'm stunned by the decision to let them play another game in Flint with those numbers and the fact they couldn't staff their own home game. I think the league is desperate to find a home for that team, and just wants to see if Flint is a potential city for next year. But if the team won't pay their staff, and get people to work the games, they need to go on the road.

Why not? It's moronic, that's why.

It's happened in sports leagues much more established than this one to have a team playing "home" playoff games away from their normal home arena.

The CIFL has done more than enough stuff we can make fun of, there's no need to invent stuff.
