The East division teams of the IBL have played exciting basketball all season long. The playoffs consisted of 7 teams with Marysville (Ohio) getting the bye. There were 6 hard-fought games with the Elkhart Express taking it all in a thriller against Battle Creek.
The Elkhart fans were looking forward to a three game series against Portland as much as the team was, but since the league changed their mind, we're happy to extend some Hoosier hospitality for the one game.
Elkhart's attendance has averaged over 2000 for the home games and 1800 for the playoffs. (Not bad for a start-of-vacation weekend for many of us.) We're enthusiastic and loud and even applaud opponent's spectacular plays (unless it's a game-ending shot :-) ). My voice is still scratchy from the 3 game weekend. Check out videos on the local TV station websites (WNDU.com, WSBT.com), elkhartexpress.com or even the iblhoopsonline site to see some real fan support. Better yet, head east and see it in person.
