Took in the double-header at Macon last night, (Both 7 inning games), The first game was very good, with Aiken taking it in the top of the 7th.

The second game was an outstanding 2 hit shutout performance by three Macon pitchers (Ashman, Lowey, and Herrera) Herrera's pitches in particular were drawing "Oohs" from The Macon crowd; (Not an easy thing to do!;) ) Look at these stats;

Name------IP------H------R------BB------SO
Ashman----4-------1------0-------1-------5
Lowey------1-------0------0-------0-------2
Herrera----2-------1------0-------0-------5
Total-------7-------2------0-------1-------12

This morning coaches said Herrera's pitches were touching the mid-90's.

I read about that game Fan, The Macon Telegraph called it "the toughest game of the year", seemed like every time The Tunes went up, The Joes came back!

Great Photos by the way, Thanks for those.:)

Speaking of free baseball, how about the doubleheader between the Macon Music and the Charlotte County Redfish last Tuesday night? 18 1/3 innings of baseball in 7 ½ hours. The channel 13 news reported that it was 2AM before it was all over..... I wonder when the beer sales stopped? Who was left that was not on the payroll?

Beer sales probably stopped when they ran out.
I heard Kazoo was sent on a beer run in the 5th inning of the second game but never returned.
Never trust a mascott with beer.I speak from experience.

A NEW LEAGUE RECORD:

Peanuts and Joes play 16 innings today!
Unfortunately the Peanuts win 4-2. I think both clubs had exhausted all position players, and S.G. had used all of their pitchers. Anderson's starting pitcher for tomorrow's game (Jan Granado) pinch hit in the 16th.

Good thing this game started at 11:00 am.
Wouldn't you know it, another "kid's day" at Anderson Memorial Stadium when we're playing the Peanuts. ;)
