If I have to sit through another understaffed game where the "president" is nowhere to be seen because he get to the game in the 4th inning I think I am going to puke. Steve has soured alot of fans by destroying the local hockey team. Whoever decided to have this half-brained doofus run the Armada is out of their freaking mind. I know the league is in the business of selling a team based on lies and deceit, but thinking that Bash has the mental or financial responsibility to respresent one of the GBL teams is simply a joke. He has driven away fans with unfulfilled promises, he wears his lack of concern for the team like a large sign on his back.
Recent resignations of longtime (well since the beginning of the team) employees is a sign of things to come. I predict a mass exodus of employess unless things improve. Lets not see him melt this team to nothing like he did the Ice Dogs. ok?
(anyone else see this post and the e-mail to follow, fall on deaf ears? I am sure that since this e-mail doesnt include money it wont be read)

Wow, sounds like things are getting Surf Dawgs bad up there. Sorry to hear it. Is this guy in the GM position as well as President? Is LB/LA... still owned by the GBL or does this guy own it? We'll have to hurry up there and get an unbiased look at the game day experience. I love Blair Field, it would really be terrible if the league messes up up there.

He does not own the team. The league thinks he has money and wants him to buy it. The reality is that he owes over 400k dollars to vendors, season ticket holders and misc other people when he destroyed the ice dogs. He has no money. He manages low end nobody boxers that he spends the entire game on his cellphone talking about.
Jay Klein is the assistant GM but is severly hamstringed by Steve in his abilities to get things done. The sad thing is that the league could care less. They make up attendance numbers (sold tickets plus actual attendance is what is reported) to sell teams and that is all they want to do now.

I agree with Mary, It does sound alot like San Diego's situation, except for one exception. Our people had spell check on their computers. Check out his bio on the Long Beach page "Formarly Bash was the managing partner of the Long Beach Ice Dogs professional hockey team, nice spelling.
OK....that may be true; but probably too harsh for the GBL to feel comfortable answearing. I am with you though, I sure would like to know the thought process behind the hire. I mean, you are right, he absolutely crushes a hocket team in the same town-then is hired for his "marketing stategies". Huh?? If he was that brilliant, his hockey club will still be in the ECHL.
He seems to be at Blair, just to be seen. I dont remember seeing him stop at chat with fans, he is either on a two way radio or his cell phone. I just dont understand....
As far as attendance goes, the GBL has always hidden behind the "number of tickets sold" shield. That goes league wide, except for Fullerton this year-they are posting in house numbers. I would figure that Long Beach is drawing about 4-600 a night in the stands. I would also figure that you are right in thinking that if the team president would be in the office working, more MIGHT get done in that regard.
If the league were smart, they should send someone down, whom anyone within the Armada team does not know. Let them observe a series and report back to the ownership group. I am sure they would be "mildly" suprised at how inefficient things are run. I was at a game at Blair recently when a batting helmet was thrown, it bounced into the stands (by accident) and hit a fan. Not ONE person from the Armada made a move to check to see if that fan was ok, or if anyone nedded medical help. What a joke!! What are there people watching???
Just one more black eye for Mr. Bash and his crew. i hope the GBL steps in and realizes it made a mistake, and soon!

the last time a league representative was sent down, 3 people quit and a day later another person quit. Stories of employees being cussed at by League officials, interns being used for person errands instead of helping the team....the list goes on. Promises made, none kept. All under the watchful eye of Bash. Gotta love when the league thinks with their pocket books.

 Wow, you guys are rough! I thought I was tough on the Reno admin.!! We just get lackluster promos and no Kids Club!!. I see the Reno Admin. running around at the games, but they won't return phone calls or emails.!
This Bash must really be doing a number to LB!! Are you guys still happy with the product level on the field (players)for the price? ??
It seems in Reno we have a good/entertaining team with no other attractions to get you to the park! Good luck in LB, I hope the league is here for many more to come!

The players are not the problem. I actually feel for them, a lot. Last years substandard busses, lack of pre/post game meals are a joke (no bread to go with pb&j) and ownership generallly not caring for their prime employees. I was at a game in Yuma last year and stayed at a visiting team hotel; it made me sick to see how many times Dominos showed up after a game. You have the talent eating garbage on the road. The occasional pizza or two is one thing, but this team must have ordered no less than 21 pizzas that evening. Would you not want you players in the best possible shape, at home and on the road?
The GBL must wake up and know that the problems stem from the top; they are concerned about the bottom line before all else. Sorry to say, 90% of minor league teams lose money and trying to force adgendas to make money doesnt do anything but alienate people. If they fostered a healthy work environment, which does include the option to fail now and again, maybe it would bring them more success. Working in fear is not good at all, they have limited markets and limited opportunities. Major sponsors, Gillette-Coke etc., are not what they should be looking at; embrace the communities that you play in.
Which makes the hiring of Steve Bash even hardfer to understand. What has Steve Bash done for Long Beach? He failed as a team owner, and asked the city to help bail him out. The city said no, and he went out and blamed the city for the team folding. (Press-Telegram)....Im not even trying to be harsh, its a fact-Steve Bash did not draw anything in the Arena; and now, with the same basic crew he had with the Ice Dogs, he is proving he cant fill this stadium either.
I blame no one but the GBL, what were they thinking?? The bottom line should be the players, sadly--its the checkbook.
nice to see you come out from hiding...the only problem is--The GBL wouldnt know common sense talent if it hit them in the face! They "talk" the game, but run it like muck, and I know that you know that. They look at resumes with law and business degrees as opposed to finding people who KNOW sports. So, I would assume they will throw you aside and keep Bash around because he has the "potential" to line their pockets. Steve Bash is no more interested in this team as anyonone else right now.....maybe his thought is "keep attendance down, so I can sneak in an get the team for a better price"---its a lose-lose.....
Run as far as you can from this debacle....you really deserve better!!!

Another no-show from Bash last night. Not in the stadium, not in the parking lot. Apparently his protege was out last night as there was no play by play either.
