Description/History:
Roy Lucas, Jr. in his first year as head football coach under indoor rules acomplished the following:
7-1 record, after taking over a 1-3 team.
6 game winning streak.
A record of 3-2 versus playoff qualifying teams.
A defense with one of only three shutouts in league history.
The offense once generated 7 TD passes in one game.
Special teams had a dropkick TD.
He worked well with coordinators Snay, Haverty, Faulkner, and Clarkson.
All this Roy accomplished as the Head Coach was done when he was the President and largest shareholder of the New England Surge Indoor Football Team.
Yes there is another coach out there at 12-0 but he did not have to take over a 1-3 team.
Petition:
We the Undersigned ask the electors of the CIFL Coach of the Year Award to give it to Roy Lucas, Jr. and his assistant coaches.
