May 22, 2007 An investors group in Hawaii was approached to invest in the Hawaii ABA team...now it can be confirmed that Hawaii doesnt have the cash to operate as based on Uncle Joes little sotry on How the Hawaii team is opened to investors. Reality set in to Hawaii when they found out the travel costs. Keep calling Joe, Hawaii owners...he will tell you how much kool aid to drink. Seems like you havent had enough. You still believe the TV deal and the apparel deal? You still believe the international teams he will bring to Hawaii? Drink up guys. LOL

Meanwhile back at the mainland....... Seems that Joe is kinda worried about the ABA law suit that the judge sided with Jaloza and Fratella and that they could wind up owning 100% of the ABA. Joe contacted them to "talk". Gee...why Talk Joe unless you are worried that they will sell it to Doyle....LOL

How will you respond to the Rochester owner suing you along with the Mayland owner for the money they invested inthe ABA, since they are the only two PREVIOUS ABA owners who bought stock. Joe how do you spell "FIDUCIARY" duty? LOL Has any owner bought ABA stock?? Hmmm, no one has....amazing.

How are you going to take care of the 800,000 dollar judgement the players won aganist you? Isnt that coming up in July?

You can't take someone's stock. you can have Joe in the position of "defrauding" someone, which may result in criminal liability, but you can't take Joe's stock. Their is a reason Doyle, et al, resigned from the Board after they lost their lawsuit that Joe filed against them for filing a false SEC report.

So while the Joe Newman has legal problems, it still remains only in the dark corners of the minds of the posters on this board that somehow suggest the ABA ownership is about to change hands. It cannot be found anywhere in the public record.

Joe Newman's dubious business practices, terrible choices in team owners, and frequent lies have helped create an environment where minor pro basketball has been irreparably damaged.

In that sense, Joe Newman has stolen from everyone who's a sports fan.

I'll give you an example in my backyard.

In 2005, the Richmond Warriors folded out of a contract with the Siegel Center at Virginia Commonwealth University. Do you think VCU will ever rent the building to a minor pro basketball team again?

In 2006, the Richmond Ballerz folded out of a contract with the Arthur Ashe Center, an arena owned by the City of Richmond. Do you think the City of Richmond will ever rent the building to a minor pro basketball team again?

There are no other suitable venues for minor pro basketball in Richmond. The Richmond Coliseum is far too large.

So, because of the consecutive folds of two ABA franchises (both due to their own poor ownership, and the fact that the teams had no games to play because of other teams' poor ownership), it is highly unlikely that any legitimate minor pro basketball league will be able to set up a franchise in Richmond.

And this story plays out similarly in the hundreds of other ABA cities that have been burned by an owner whose only capital was the check that (s)he wrote to Joe Newman.

So yes, Joe Newman has stolen from me, and every other sports fan.

plain and simple. Joe is a criminal a piece of s***. He takes 10k from you. Tells you all this nice and buttery stuff. Slips you a Jim Jones and a Mickey to go along with it and when you do fail he will call you garbage and a bunch of other things.

The turd burger has stolen from investors that he needed to form this so-called league. He has stolen from companies that create a service to many Fortune 100 to 500 companies (Site 150) he has embezzled money and that is a fact. This man all he has done is destroy minor league basketball in this country.

Ask Joe why he cant find a sucker in Puerto Rico??? The FIBA Americas Region headquaters is in Puerto Rico, right next to the PR Federation offices. To be a pro team there you have to be part of the fed. Guess what? It's not happening. Can Joe take a reservation?? YES. But will a team be playing there no. Lets see. you have to pay the rent and the cheapest arena here is is 30k. and thats pay me upfront. Then concessions have to be paid always to the arena, security, the cops yes you have to pay for cops too. Transporation, you name it you have to pay for it.

Anyways. Everywhere this old man has gone he has f. up.

You miserable son of a *****... you're doing a wonderful job promoting your league. If this is the contempt you hold your audience in, you deserve every failure you've had.

And in case you missed the subtlety -- it was kind of hard for both Richmond franchises to play games when just about every team they were scheduled to play folded. And that *is* Newman's fault.

I don't know that either Richmond franchise would have made it past one season if all of their opponents had shown up... but when games were cancelled, rescheduled, or flat-out ignored because nobody knew who the Richmond franchises were supposed to play... that *is* Newman's fault.

An occasional franchise failure? That's the team's fault.

Half or more of the league folding every year? That's the league's fault. And the league *is* Joe Newman. Or have you forgotten that he fired the members of the Board of Directors who believed otherwise?
