The CFL website has the same old 8 teams for 2007.

Any news on Ottawa rejoining? What about the Nova Scotia Schooners?

The ottawa group is done with the cfl and is looking at other leagues right now.There will be a pro team in ottawa but it will not be the cfl.As for nova scotia there a long ways off from getting a team.
They need a stadium and they do not have any backers at this point.

What other leagues for Ottawa? United Football League? All-American (with Canada) Football League?

I haven't heard anything coming out of Ottawa about them looking at a different pro league. The only vague rumor I've heard concerning football and Ottawa was that the Sens ownership was looking at the possibility of an af2 team.

As for the ownership group that wanted the CFL team, I hadn't heard them mention looking at any other league. In fact, when the Ottawa issue was killed, the UFL hadn't even popped up yet. As for the AAFL, they won't expand to Ottawa as the Gee-Gees are lucky to get 5,000 for a CIS playoff game. Since the college fan is who they are targeting, this doesn't promise big money for the ownership.

I dont think Ottawa in the CFL is dead yet, the CFL wants to do their homework. So, relax, in 2025 you may see a poll about the issue.

The CFL will put a team back in Ottawa but they will do it right. I don't think it will take until 2025, but it may not be until 2009.

I noticed the CFL is really good about their teams. It seems they only want teams in the league that can be in existence permanently. The league has the appearance they aren't interested in one year experiments and we're done scenarios.
