Corpus Christi owner said on the Alaska Wild Halftime show that he is opening the door for Fairbanks to bring a team into the IFL. He thinks it would be a great move and help the Wild financially since it would add another team they could play here in Alaska. He put the word out to local business and they seem to be very interested in sponsorship. He hopes to hear from some interested buyers within the next 2 months, so it will give the team time to recruit the proper personnel and promote the game of arena football in the Fairbanks area. Alaska Wild already have fans traveling 350 plus miles to see the team meaning placing a team in the Fairbanks area will create some sort of rivalry between the two major cities in the State of Alaska.

Why not join the UIF or AF2? A lot closer and better geographic rivalries.

A lot cheaper to fly to Dallas and bus around then it is to fly to small northwest cities. Thats the same reason junior hockey in Alaska plays in the south division of the NAHL.

Fairbanks will for sure lower the costs for everyone involved. But they are also going to have a much smaller business pool to draw from for advertising.

I find that bizzare that after 1 season where the attendance went from 6000+ to under 3000 that the IFL would put another team here. It's still on shaky ground here in alaskas largst city let alone 35,000 fairbanks ... I could be wrong but lets give the IFL another season in anchorage before we talk about moving a new team to the sticks

IF, and it's a big IF, Fairbanks gets a team, I think we can all figure that there'd be about six games a year played between Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Only way it'd make sense is if it cuts down on travel and helps keep attendance up by using the rivalry factor.
