Anderson Joes take the lead from the Redfish late in the game - only to lose another heartbreaker. The bullpen gives up three runs, and the Joes leave runners stranded again in the ninth.
ouch Ouch OUCH!
It hurts to be a Joes fan.
Oh well, two more chances to win the "cellar series"!
Sounds like Bradenton and Macon are having a good night though!

There's a looong way to go yet, Fan. We're not even a quarter through yet right? I'll go out on a limb and say this isn't the way we finish up.
I'm not saying The Joes are gonna win it all, I'm just saying things will change as the season goes on, so sit back, grab your beverage of choice and enjoy!!:infun:

You're right about that, BEETM.
There are some bright spots in the Anderson lineup. Jean Ganados and Kevin Culpepper are pitching well.
Heath Keel is one of the league leaders in triples, extra base hits, and a slugging percentage of 0.577.
Billy Hogan and Travis Hundley are beginnning to find their bats as well.
And WIN or LOSE, it is still great to have baseball in Anderson again!
Go JOES:D

Aw BEETM,
Wouldn't you know it - the JOES finally string two wins together and I was in Myrtle Beach. :p I couldn't find the game on the radio ANYWHERE! And to keep me from working during vacation, my wife ACCIDENTLY left my computer at home, so I couldn't even get updates online!!!
I didn't even know how the weekend games went until today:(
Looks like Tyler Addison decided he really does want to be a pitcher.
I've really got to hand it to both Bradenton and Macon. They have looked impressive the past couple of weeks. Didn't take long for them to catch Aiken and South Ga. after all!
You are a wise man - even if I did see a picture of you wearing a Georgia BULLDOGS shirt!

LOL! Sorry about that Fan, I didn't mean to put you through that, and I don't just mean the shirt:p
Look on the bright side, another half-dozen weekends in Myrtle Beach and The Joes will be top of the league!;)
I'm off to Florida myself next week, so who knows what the league will look like when I get back?

You ain't Kiddin' KID!
See below, from the REDFISH website:
Managerial Change in Charlotte County
June 16, 2007 - Fans of the Charlotte County Redfish will be seeing a lot more of SCL Roving Hitting Instructor Cecil Fielder as he will take over managerial duties for the Redfish beginning Sunday.
“Having someone with the knowledge and passion for the game like Cecil Fielder accept this position will allow a smooth transition for everyone involved,” shared SCL Chief Operating Officer Chris Allen.
Former manager Jackie Hernandez will continue to be a part of the South Coast League family, accepting a position on the league level for the remainder of 2007. The Redfish, who currently are posting a league worst 5-20 mark to begin the season, can use a breath of fresh air in the dugout.
“It’s a benefit to be able to promote from within,” shared Redfish GM Steven Tricarico. “Cecil Fielder is a name and personality that or fans will be familiar with and we look forward to having him guide us through the rest of our season.”
Fielder will take over a team that has struggled to find an identity early in the season. Numerous roster moves and player turnover haven’t helped a young team like the Redfish find their stride. With a focus on taking the season one game at a time, Fielder believes that his squad will make an impact in the second half.
“It’s going to be a good challenge, but we need to have a different attitude when we’re on the field,” said Fielder. “There is a way to win and a way to lose. I’m going to teach these guys how to be professionals. I want our fans to come out and watch us compete night in and night out.”
A graduate of UNLV, Fielder (pictured above) was chosen by the Kansas City Royals in the 4th round of the 1982 draft. The Royals ultimately traded Fielder to the Toronto Blue Jays in February of 1983 where he began his minor league career.
Fielder made his debut with the Blue Jays in the summer of 1985, and managed to hit 31 homeruns and 84 RBI’s in limited playing time over four seasons. In 1990, Fielder returned to the majors with the Detroit Tigers and became the first player to hit 50 homeruns in a season since George Foster hit 52 for the Reds in 1977.

More moves, but obviously not as big as the REDFISH's new manager:
Joes trade Millard Dawson to the REDFISH today.
Also release pitcher Aaron Eason. Eason got the opening night win for Anderson, but hasn't done much since.
Joes also sign a new outfielder, Jesepe Rivas.
Travis Hundley goes on DL.

O.K. the last time I went on vacation, the Joes had their first two-game "winning streak". I guess I'm gonna have to do it again if the Joes are gonna make a run in the second half...
:D
Going to Atlanta tomorrow to see the last two games of the Braves/Pirates series! Then heading to Charleston to see a couple of games at the "JOE" (Joseph Riley stadium) - Charleston Riverdogs vs. Kannapolis Intimidators.
Later this month my son and I are going to Greenville to see the DRIVE take on the Riverdogs.
What a great month!
Oh yeah, BEETM, I've already got my tickets for the JOES vs. MUSIC series in August.
I love Summertime

That would be for the series in Anderson right?
I'm ashamed to admit it Fan but the two teams I haven't seen yet are The Joes and The Redfish. I'll have to rectify that soon!;)

Hey Beetm,
Times growing short:p
Anderson will be at Macon July 23-25 and Aug 27-29 (to end the season)
Or you can make the drive up to Anderson on Aug 9-11.
I'll be there the 10th, if you come to the game look me up. I'll be the loudmouth who yells "Wooo-oop" after a strikeout:redface:
