Hey all- Silver Sox fan here and I just found this board today and am looking forward to tonight's season opener. I'm going to make the predictions of a Reno win and attendance at a conservative number of ~1900. In honor of Bob Barker, I don't want to overbid. But I think tomorrow night's game will have a bigger turnout for the fireworks (if it gets promoted).

Hey, glad to see there is another Silver Sox fan here. I'll be at the game too and I think we will definitely see a Silver Sox win. At least on paper, they have more experience. I think our outfield will put up some outstanding offensive numbers and they will do it behind our best pitcher (again, on paper), Dusty Bergman.
I hope you're right on 1900 though my bet is in the 1500-1600 range with the spike you mentioned for fireworks night. But if it is 1900 that would be awesome for the team and the community.
Check out my blog at renosilversox.blogspot.com and post your observations on there. I'd love to get your take on the team.

For those wondering what the score was- Chico won 6-5.

The paper said final attendance number was 1704 so it was right between our two guesses. There was no box score in the paper and none is up on the Sox or GBL page so I can;t confirm beyond the one blub in the paper. Hopefully fireworks can jack that number up into the 1900-2000 range.

So just barely over half full? It seemed like a lot of fans left after the 6th inning. But those who stayed to the end sure made it loud in the 8th!

I feel like we're becoming a 1-2 punch on this but I have the attedance figure from the paper...2216. Nice size crowd for a Friday night game with fireworks. There are only 38 home games I believe so hopefully the fans can keep up this support for the rest of the year and do their part in keeping professional baseball in Reno...for good this time.

I couldn't make it to the game tonight- but for anyone who is lurking around, I'll provide some occasional updates. The last I heard on the radio it was the top of the 3rd and it's still scoreless.

Chico leaves the bases loaded, only getting one in, in the top half of the 8th. Reno leads 6-2.

Chico's 9th inning rally falls short- Reno holds on for the 6-5 win.
