The former Atlanta Braves Pitcher (last pitched in The Majors 2005) was a large part of the publicity machine in the run-up to opening day in Macon.

Even though his performance didn't quite match the hype I thought they might keep him around a little longer for his experience and his "Name".

I wish him the all the best for the future.

I am a little surprised by that move. Anderson released a couple today also:Jesse Whiteside and DJ Dixon. They picked up a new catcher from some "mystery" league out West.
Bradenten made a few trades today also.
Something in the air...

It reminds me alot of when the Macon Peaches were around 3 years ago and started the season with two former Atlanta Braves -- Terrell Wade and Mike Cather. I don't think either one pitched for the Peaches after the first couple of weeks. Unfortunately, some of these players are playing in a league like this as a near last resort to revive their careers.

Was he playing in the Golden League? I haven't been able to find any info on him. The local radio announcer said he had been playing "in a league out West, that didn't keep track of hitting statistics" ... or something to that effect.

Than that wasn't the Golden LEague. Probably a semi-pro or collegiate league.

Anderson yesterday released two pretty decent pitchers :confused:

LH starter Kevin Culpepper and RH reliever Branden Sherrif were both released on Friday.

I've seen both of these guys and they're not that bad... Someone will be picking them up. Good luck guys!
