It has been a long time since I have authored a note on the message board. Often I read what is being written about all sports but as CEO of the ABA - I wanted to give you an update on the league - at least as we start the season.
I know not many league officials or team owners communicate via message boards but thought it would be fun to give everyone a perspective on the ABA from some of us who are trying to build it into a great league.
I will not be able to respond to the board but if you send me a private email - I would be happy to answer any of your questions.
A couple of things. This has been a very demanding two weeks but I can assure you we are getting better each day - the website is up and running (for the last year) and teams are starting to populate their web site - all rosters and other information should be done for all teams this week.
We have large and small crowds to start - Kansas City had over 1,000 sold tickets last night for example - but it was also a Tuesday night. That franchise will double attendance each month like they did in 2002.
We have a long way to go and appreciate many of your comments. I also like the new format of the board and hope to keep "listening" to constructive suggestions.
Thanks for reading this email - if you want to stay current - keep watching ABAlive.com - we are really looking to make this a league everyone is proud of...we are a group of basketball entreprenuers and building a business on an international basis.
Thanks
