there are no players from the IBL that can play in any in any real overseas league. Case in point- that put out a press release signing a guy who worked in the front office of an NBA team. I think he was an administrative worker, but because he worked for an NBA team ( not as a scout or player or coach), he is worthy of a press release

Wow, what a blast to these talented players... in researching the current IBL teams it would appear that 45+ players have gone on to play overseas.

Agreed, that was a fairly ignorant comment. I would imagine there are a few dozen players in the IBL who might be able to play in Europe, though not in the ACB or LEGA A/1.

Go to the IBL website and look at the player stats, which unfortunately only focus on highest scorers.

I imagine there are a few players from leagues in Europe that have finished their schedules there and have gone home looking for some extra money.

I know of one player in particular doing this that I am tracking.

The IBL website is your starting place.

It is tough to truely see how good a player is or is not by looking at his IBL numbers. First of all, teams play in high school gyms with the high school three point arc. So you have men playing in kids arena. After college, the high school three point arc is like shooting a free three for some guys. Also, the lane is not NBA regulation so your spacing is way off. Finally, the level of competition is not great. To put up big numbers by shooting from the high school three point arc and playing against sub standard talent does not place you in a very good position in the overseas market.

Well, first thank you for your answers, but sometimes i think that i know IBL a little bit more than you: I look every day at the score in the IBL Site but, as someone told, there are only the highest score...if you're luck, this year some team sets the full stats on line (i think it depends on the money the team has).

Second, the three point arc in Europe is less then the NBA arc, i think much similar to USA High school.

I can agree with "one way" if we talk about the 2005 and 2006 even if there was a player "Nate Green" in IBL Championship 2005 now playing in Italy with Olimpia Milano.

But this championship looks at me more interesting because I see some players that played overseas and some ex NBA players are not exactly "cracks"....

I know of one player in particular doing this that I am tracking
May you tell me is name?

At the end, I make my ideas about every single players not only looking at the stats, but looking at his past, his life, his way to live basketball.

I make you an example: I saw the stats about Lemar Gayle, so I wrote to coach Sims who sent me his curriculum (that i found very interesting), but i hope to find some Videos. Well, Gayle played at Cal State Bakersfield with one of the best player in Italian Lega A: Ramel Curry (Air Avellino) so I think Lemar can try to play in Italy in Lega Due (probably a crack) or in Lega A...

ONE WAY always talks inaccuarate trash..

Eric Fiegi from Salem, who was last year's IBL leading scorer and MVP just came back from the elite league in Europe about a month ago. Terry Horton from Central Oregon played in Europe last year. Portland has 6-7 players who have played and will again play in top leagues in Europe. God Shammgod went to Saudi Arabia for 2 weeks to make $70,000 for an appearance. A lot of players in the IBL are top-notch...the difference in this league are the 5-12 players of each team....it's where the noticable drop-off is. The top players for each team are all real good.

Central Oregon's point guard has played on several Euro teams and traveled with the Washington Generals for 365 days, playing 360 games.

you so your claim to fame is that you signed the guy who ran around and let the trotters dribble weave for the applause, you are right that is great. Next we will see a press release stating how you have signed the guy that get hit by confetti. God Shammdog? I know that you are training him, but come on. You have to do better than that to convince me that IBL players can play overseas- p.s. Ireland, Holland, Estonia, and Switerland do not count.

one way,

Are you sure you don't work for a league that is in competition with the IBL? Or maybe you are a basketball player who couldn't find a spot in the league? You seem to have some kind of vendetta against the IBL. Personally, I have a vendetta against rotating, moving tire rims, but I try to keep that to myself.

One Way has only had a vendetta since people starting "elevating" the IBL above the USBL. I believe we have an overly sensitive USBL fan. There's a silly fear that one league may get a leg up on recruiting... but I actually believe that this issue is relatively irrelevant to the business.

I think the argument is kind of stupid. USBL has apple problems, IBL has orange problems, NONE of which are related to talent on the court. Mind you, I doubt the USBL has the resources to overcome their problems, but desperate people with money sometimes come up with desperate solutions. Once in a while, those solutions actually work. Just saying...

Like it or not the only viable Spring league is the IBL. The USBL had three teams fold and is down to six teams. The WBA cut it season way short this year. I am not saying the IBL is perfect but it's stable and teams pay their players and play their schedules. I will be interested to see how the league does next year without Duilio at the helm.

just tired of the press releases, then another press release, then the boasting of people (who have never seen a game), boasting about how great the players are and how great the league is. Making a mountain out of a mole hill. Boasting how their business plan works and how everyone finishes the season and the basketball is the greatest, etc. I am just offering my point of view from someone who has seen IBL games and players. If people are happy with their league, great- more power to you. But it is a gloried rec league, I seen it and expierenced it. That is how this whole thing got started. People do not like to hear the truth, and when I back it up with facts, the pitch forks come out.

What facts have you stated?..."the IBL is a glorified rec league" is not a fact...nor is "none of the players are good enough to play European ball".

You say you've 'experienced' the IBL, does that mean you played and got cut?...or just played and you were too good for the rec league?...or your 'experience' is determined by watching games?

A hater is a hater is a hater....you are deemed: a hater.

May someone tell me why Esteban Weaver is still not playing with Marysville Meterors? Is it due to injuries or other? What kind of other problems?

mammal

My understanding is Weaver was a no show at a game in late May and has not been heard from. To bad. He does have talent. I still think Marysville will challange Elkhart for the East title.

What do you mean for "a no show at a game in late May"??

Weaver never showed up to the game and didn't contact the team.
