:x Since I will be making the trek across Michigan to Kalamazoo in a few weeks to see my first Frontier League game, I thought I'd catch the game yesterday on-line so I'd recognize a few names once I got there. It was a pretty good game until there was 1 out in the bottom of the 8th. The umps called in the Kings from the field. There were T-storms in the forecast but no rain had fallen and no thunder was heard (according to the play by play guy). Apparently the umps saw lightning in the distance. It had to be pretty far away for there to be no thunder, but they stopped the game anyway. The grounds crew didn't even cover the field until after it finally did start raining. By then it was too late. Now, between the two, I would be a Kings fan, but I thought it was pretty crappy that they called it when the Otters were making a comeback and not a drop of rain had fallen. They could have finished the game, or at least the 8th, easily before there was any danger. If it wasn't for the Kings being confused by what was going on (again accoring to to play by play guy), I'd wonder if there was more to it than lighting in the distance.
Is this something to be expected in FL games? I'm gonna be pretty PO'd if I drive over 2 hours one way to have a game end like that.
