At the risk of inciting a new, pointless debate between af2 haters and supporters, I was wondering if there was any update about the situation in Ft. Wayne.

Personally, I am an AFL/af2 fan so I hope things get worked out and they can continue to play in Ft. Wayne in the af2. However, in an effort to get the full story I welcome information from the af2 haters as long as we don't have to get into another stupid debate about the validity of the information.

What information?

I can filter the haters reasonably well... the trick is to find the useful nugget in amongst the hate. You can do the same. Si se puede!

Fair enough. I can agree with that.

I am still wondering where the situation in Ft. Wayne stands.

According to thestatguys.com, all of the Fusion games have had over 4000 people in attendance. Sounds like things are going just fine to me.

That is announced attendance Tony and things are not fine.

In reality, there have not been four thousand people at a game this season. Opening night was the biggest crowd at thirty-seven hundred. Since then, it has gone downhill having already dropped more than eleven hundred people per game with only twenty six hundred showing up last week.

The newspaper and TV also covered a story saying AF2 was shopping the team around for a new owner already. AF2 seems unhappy with the lack of funding from Golden for the team and lack of fan support from the city.

According to team sources, they are planning on a 2008 season but currently are losing tons of money and have fallen behind on their bills.

On a good note, the fans that do show up are loud and proud as ever.

This is what I heard from various sources.

Ft Wayne had their electricity turned off
in their front office , and for a while there
wasn't anyone answering the phone.

This was confirmed at a cifl game when I began
chatting to fellow in FUsion gear who ended up
telling me he worked for the FWFU . He was
astounded that I knew about the utility bill thing.

the af of 2 , booted their owner out of
the league. A lot of people expressed concerns
about the choice of owner in the 1st place.

the team is in debt and depending on who you
talk to , the debt is as high as a half a million dollars,
and no less than about a quarter mill. no varification

on very good rapport , I was informed that fans at a
recent FUsion home game were forced to give back
their game balls that they caught going into the
stands fair and square , as the team didn't even
have enough balls to cover the game.
Sad stuff when you listen to the af2 apologists,
beat their flabby chests and lie about how great a league it is.

Attendance has dipped from the season opener 5,133,
to as low as 3,785 and averaging 4,357 right now.
Not bad numbers really , but is it enough to
sustain a team already losing money in the af2s
system of bloodletting ? doubtful .

thats what I have heard so far...
