View Full Version : New England 86 Steubenville 0
The Steubenville Stampede only had 13 players at Saturday's game. The team had no coaches or trainers. A Steubenville player injured his knee early in the first quarter, and he had to be assisted by New England's medical staff. The New England defense recorded four safeties, which (I believe) is a professional football record. The Stampede players who played deserve a lot of credit for doing so, in my opinion; they must have known that they were in for a long night. Nothing against Roy Lucas Jr. or anyone else associated with the Surge, but this was my last Continental Indoor Football League game. Maybe Worcester will have a team in a real football league someday.

So the Stampede had all new players - which means I got to pay over $30 to see the "Lincoln H.S. Football team" play the Surge. Someone over on the "real" boards brings this matter up and their post is DELETED - again.
M-I-C-K-E-Y M- well you know the rest.
This will be my last year with watching the Surge if they are in this same league next year.

New England - Rochester should be a good one, but that's just about it at this stage of the game. The league really is in shambles, and that's sad for the good fans and owners (like Roy) that thought they were getting something different.
The statement from the CIFL (which stands for "Crappy Insufficient Funds League") is that all of the regular Stampede players are either injured or trying out for Arena Football League teams (I guess all of the coaches are injured also). After the game one of the Stampede players told a reporter that Steubenville no longer has a team, and the guys who played in Worcester are basically "trying out" to be CIFL players. If you want to see real professional football, drive to Manchester on Friday or Albany on Saturday - those cities have teams in an actual professional football league.

I am going more on this board now.....then the CIFL one....but I am not driving to Albany to watch games.....1/3 of team are good....1/3 ok another third should have undergone a credit check when applying for a franchise.
the CIFL has some problem and the Surge may leave it next year....the Surge may not.
But let's look at it this way there has not been indoor football in Mass since 1995...RI earlier then that....The business community will not invest in putting in indoor football teams in New England....if the Surge are not supported at the gate. Yes Worcester is at least an hour for a lot of us...Yes the Springfield and S-ville are an embarrassment....but who ever the Surge get in the first round on 7-7-7 at 7 will be one of the leagues better teams. A good crowd will convince potential investors in other New England cities to bring the sport.
Let's have some fun at the Surge block party, playoff game and after party on 7-7-7

If you get LV, you'll have a very classy team showing up. It appears Chesapeake will be headed to Rochester.
Good luck, NE fans. It's a shame my town had to get ran through the mud by Ramone and Martin this year. It does make the league look bad. But there's no 100% fault, it's fractured between a bunch of groups and individuals.
Haines, Terry, Jeff K, Ray, Ramone, Jeff S and the CIFL, Martin, etc.
