Oh yes there will a tournament in Enid...

I've come up with a concept that we are going to try that should make this kind of interesting.

We will do a two-pool round robin tournament...

Pool 1: #1, #4, #6 seeds
Pool 2: #2, #3, #5 seeds

Wednesday: #1 vs #6 and #2 vs #5
Thursday: #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3
Friday: #4 vs #6 and #3 vs #5

Saturday: Pool 1 and Pool 2 winners for the USBL Championship

Every team is guaranteed two games....and it could be very fun to watch because the six teams that are left are really loading up should be very competitive.

Top two seeds get the advantage of not having to play on Friday if they qualify for the championship game...there will be tie breakers in the event of three teams going 1-1 (most likely point differential).

If anybody has any suggestions let me know...

Concept is fine, but I would be concerned about the amount of time (aka expense) teams must spend in Enid. And it would be an extra expense for the fans who do travel.

Who is financing this baby?

Will USBL league officials actually be there?

Actually HAC...the team expense should not be a major factor because we will not have a tip off banquet the night before the event that the teams were required to show up for. There will also be two teams that won't play until Thursday. Brooklyn will already be out here because we play them in Enid on that Monday. Teams are liking it because everybody gets at least two games to showcase their players and it makes the trip a little more worthwhile.

It might be tough to get fans to come down for the long weekend but they can go home on Saturday night if they want...I think it is a pretty good way to take lemons and make lemonade...

Makes sense, especially with Brooklyn already being in Enid.

And without the banquet dinner, that should help too.

So will the tourney, I assume, start immediately after the regular season ends?

We have the last game of the season with Brooklyn in Enid on Monday...the tournament will start on Wednesday...

The steelheads have an all-star team and yet they have been losing games. Levingston in todays paper says he has lost his players mentally. Today should be a big game. If you can't get past kansas then you will not get past dodge city then you will not win the tournament. All-stars or not

I dont care what format the tournament is, because I will be there to do stats at it!
