I have talked to many of the players over the last few weeks and they are still inquiring about the UIF! Currently they are looking hard to find investors who can meet the leagues requirements financially. I have had the fortunate opportunity to see these guys in action for myself and I have to tell you they are good (though the score doesn't indicate that). You can't possibly expect too much from these players considering the "Mess" they are in. Everything from traveling 4 plus hrs riding mini vans to the arena the day of the game, not eating pre-game meals prior to the game, and most importantly "Not Getting Paid". Even under those circumstances they still go out and lay it all on the line, compete, and give their opponents a run for their money (even though their record and the scores don't indicate that). With the talent on this team and in this area this team has so much potential. I can only imagine how much better they could be if they were in a good situation and being taken care the "RIGHT WAY"!!!!! Oh!!! By the way!! To the person who said it was "unprofessional" to shop a team on a fan forum................................GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The is nothing wrong with a group of players doing whatever it takes to make their situation better!! That right their shows what kind of "heart" and "guts" these guys have!! And if you can't come to their aid or understand what they are trying to accomplish..................Ya'll can't really call yourselves fans of the game...........You're fooling yourselves!

Well, I did hear that the UIF might merge with the WIFL for 2008, and Fayetteville could hop aboard...So we'll have to see...

Unless the rumored merger actually happens, it is unlikely Atlanta will end up in the midwest-based UIF. I also doubt that an owner will buy the Thoroughbreds who have unpaid debts but no venue or league. The best chance of Atlanta playing next year is as a new franchise in the AIFA or WIFL, with AIFA being the cheaper option if I remember correctly.

What are the financial requirements for the WIFL. UIF and AIFA?

There won't be a merger.

It doesn't make sense. The leagues have 2 different structures and mindsets.

It can happen and it will happen. I have reliable sources telling me that there are several investors, that have sound financial backgrounds, willing to buy this team. The idea is for the team to be bought and "MOVE IT" to another league!!! Yes, it will not be called the "Atlanta Thoroughbreds" anymore, but something else. A new team in a new league that is the idea!! What the players want is to find out everything they need to know about the best leagues so they won't end up in the same "Screwed up" situations like they have been dealing with the NIFL!! They have been told so many times how good the UIF is and they just want to be a part of that. A good team in a better situation!!

If you plan on moving it to the midwest I know that Rapid City (Black Hills Red Dawgs) still hold ownership in the UIF..... I don't know if that is any help....

I could be wrong but i thing that lease runs out in the uif in 2008, and i believe thats why they didn't come back to the uif in 07 becuase jenter still owned the rapid city lease in the uif.

I don't believe Jenter still owns the UIF rights to the Rapid City market.
