Oh, this is funny. Read this post found on the NIFL website. CG must have hired a publicist.

I heard through the grapevine that Cleveland fired Atlanta Thoroughbreds head coach Chris Banks because of league sanctions and unethical behavior.

An inside member of the Atlanta Thoroughbreds contacted the league office and said that he knew Chris Banks deliberatley defrauded the league by lying to them to extort money from them for a trip to to Cincinatti he never intended to take. There is evidence to suggest that his motives are self centered and does not have the best interest of the Atlanta players or the league. Anyone who maliciously causes a team not to get a home opponent is banned indefinately from the league.
An Atlanta member even told the league office that he told his players not to sign their proper league paper work for insurance coverage.


I'm glad the league took the position to not tolerate this type of malicious, criminal and unethical behavior.

I think Mr. Banks may have the makings of a slander suit against the league. I talked directly with the owner of the bus company, Dobi Transportation, in Atlanta Saturday. When we spoke, his bus had the team on it and was headed to Dayton. He had not been sent a promised wire transfer by Carolyn Shiver to cover the trip or $1400 he was still owed from the Beaumont trip. Not only did the T-Breds intend to make the trip, they were in the process of making it when they received the call from the Marshals that the game was cancelled!

I promise you, Chris Banks wasn't fired by the NIFL or Cleveland Gary. He turned the bus around last Saturday because he knew Carol Shiver and Cleveland Gary were lying about paying the bus driver and team per diem. Truth be told, the trip to Beaumont was full of lies on CG and CS part and Stephanie Fisher as well as Avion Brown (Palm Beach Waves coach) will back that up. This coach had to pay for the players per diem while in Texas and didn't get the money refunded until a week later. I can promise you, this guys is financially ok, owning 2 very successful restaurants. I do know one other thing, the bus company is still owed money from the Texas trip and last weeks trip that the team attempted to take. I can't blame him for not ruining his name and business rep. for the NIFL. Truth be told, this guy handled the business of this team very business like. I can't blame him for not traveling in vans and SUV's, for what was suppose to be a professional football team. Magic, you don't understand. Coachld said that he found that quote on the NIFL website (everything in italics). He himself is not saying those things. He's on the same team as you, buddy. He's just bring to our attention another despicable action by the NIFL to try to blame someone else for their own mistakes.

We were headed to Columbia not Dayton. I am still unsure of who has done what and who caused what. All I no for sure is that it all is a mess and the only one's not to blame are the players.

I know Coach Banks tired of all the BS he was going through just too make the team work. If not for Banks, their wouldn't even be a team in Atlanta. Cleveland nor Caroline Shiver could even get a venue in Atlanta. The horse park cancelled their contract due to lies, bounced checks and lack of G&L insurance. Then we find out on Tuesday our coach was fired or he quit. We try to see who is still ready to play after all this and end up with 17 players. We did not get to practice, because we are not allowed on our practice field. We can not get our jerseys from the old coach or some of the fromer players. We go to Greensboro to play with 15 jersey and two white practice jersey with sharpie blacked numbers. We loose by two even with all of this going on. I have no idea at this point who is to blame for the lack of the practice field, or the game being changed and then changed and then being changed again, however we just want to move past all of this and play football. But, will anything ever be normal?

I doubt anytime soon . . . or how about NEVER! The reason you no longer have a practice field is because Chris Banks QUIT his position as Head Coach. Chris set up the Morris Brown facility and contract, as well as, all of the business relationships that were established. I am certain that the reason why you don't have all of your uniforms and equipment is because CG owes Chris money. So, I hope you better understand who is to blame for the current situation, and I guarantee you -- it isn't Chris Banks!

You can play football all you want as long as you don't expect to get paid or have the proper insurance to cover you. That is your choice, you are a grown man and can make that educated decision on your own.
