View Full Version : Koyotes vs Stars
Who won the game between the Kansas Koyotes and the Colorado Stars? What was the score? Is that Colorado's only schedualed game or will they play again this APFL Season?

The Koyotes played the Lincoln Chillers and ran a score of 75 - 6 on Saturday night. The reason they played the Lincoln (Neb.) Chillers, a fill-in team for the Colorado Stars, is because Colorado did not make the trip because of transportation problems.

Looks like the APFL is up to it's same ole deal again this year. Pickin' on the little guys. Topeka, play with the big boys. I bet that are a lot of indoor teams out there that can do the same thing.
I mean anyone can go around around beating up semi pro teams like you guys are doing. Join a real league and play real teams.
Will Colorado even be fielding an APFL squad this year? Whats going on with the Wisconsin Locomotives for that matter?

There was once a hockey league- I forget what the thing was called. I doubt it was really a league, as it seems all the games were played in Eugene, Oregon. Some people had noticed the same players playing for different visiting teams (Sacramento, maybe Mexico City). The "owner" was eventually busted for using this "league" as a money-laundering scheme for some tax evasion or drugs or something (drugs in Eugene not exactly being a surprise).
It's hard for me to think of this APFL without thinking of that. I suppose I should be of a more charitable mind here, since I'm not about to drive from Boise to check it out, but it's hard to think of another explanation born of rational minds (rationality being a dangerous assumption in itself here).

It really urks me when someone who hasn't even checked out the APFL sits there and knocks it. We may not be as successful as the NIFL (oh yeah, how many teams haven't made it through the season or have had to be picked up by the league?). We may never be as successful as the AFL, but the APFL brought football to Topeka for those people who wanted a team here.
This is the league's 2nd year and it has been better than the first one. I only see better things happening next season. For those that are skeptical, don't knock it until you've tried it!
Well thats one of the more ridiculous accusations I have heard in quite a while.. But giving it all the consideration it is due... I'll stop now..
Yes it is only the 2nd year for the APFL..
But... The long road is growing old for even us "supporters" of the APFL..
I have stuck up for the endeavour of my fellow Kansan..
And never armed with anything more than... Give them a chance..
Well the Colorado Stars and their inability to "make" the game just adds more "reasons" for most fans of indoor football to basically ignore the APFL.. And who could blame them.
The NIFL and their countless problems has nothing to do with this...
Other than Mr. Adams not wanting to do business with them.. And who can blame him..
At some point you have to realize that the current plan for the APFL isn't working..
I wish there were other options that the Koyotes were exploring..
Maybe they are?

Okay, maybe Ralph has a good team but he has a sorry league, if you can call it a league. Maybe Ralph out to sell his team and work on forming a league, looks like he can't do both.
How can you say this year looks better than last year, it's the same ole crap it just has a few more teams. Look at what Chad is doing with the IFL and I believe he owns a couple of the teams. It can be done but maybe Ralph likes beating up on semi pro ( rec teams).
You guys might be in luck though. Since you are getting a CHL team maybe somebody would consider placing an af2 team in your market.
Guess we will have to wait and see.

You know, I can also mention a little bit of how the NIFL attempted to get into Eugene, and it was probably fortunate for all parties that THAT venture crashed and burned before there were any season ticket holders to get burned... but that's a discussion better told by my buddy who still lives there.
Then there's a dubious owner who wanted to bring the NIFL in Boise... which should have started up this season. Let's just say that the NIFL's reputation preceded them long before this season even started. Thing is, I'm not comparing football leagues to football leagues, except to say that the crop of owners throughout the indoor game aren't exactly the sharpest tacks...
...but since you brought it up...
At least, with the N, there's a semblance of some individual teams that appear to be viable, and all they can do is hope that another league will come around to bail them out. All we ever hear about from the APFL is from Kansas, which is why I brought the comparison with the scam artist forward... but the whole thing shows some hope for Topeka, anyway.

AF2 can't play in the Expocentre. Their "system" doesn't fit the arena. Besides, it wouldn't exactly be fair not to let the Koyotes continue on since they were/are the only ones willing to bring this product back to town after it got fouled up the first time around.
Pounder...
Your paragraph about the NIFL and it's reputation preceding the team in Boise is EXACTLY the reason that this years debacles and the NIFL bother the crud out of me..
And I'm in Wichita... No links whatsoever to the NIFL or any teams..
Its just not good for indoor football...
I seem to remember noticing that the Eugene Mercury and the Southern Oregon Heat.. different teams.. same uni's.. lol
And as far a bailing out this team or league..
This years problems may have pushed the owners who were "maybe jump from the NIFL" right into the "Its time to go" group...
You never know.. :?:
