Now that we have intelligent posters in here, what is your thought on the new IFL, and the APFL. Which one will play, and which one is the future. Or are they both. I am curious to get some insight from someone other than Football Man.

I like the idea of both leagues. I think the IFL will burn itself out by high ticket prices. I really like the concept of the APFL, but the lack of information can't be good.
There should be an announcement in the next coming weeks about which teams will be in the APFL for the 2004 season. I know every post says a few weeks, but I'm sure they will be soon. It does appear that they have made some good pick ups for the league, and I have found that the OK Crude will not be one of them. As I've heard it, the Koyotes were also supposed to announce their new head coach/oc and dc today. They have also announced on their website (koyotefootball.com) that the first player try-out will be Dec. 20. Excited for the season to start!

As I've heard it, the Koyotes were also supposed to announce their new head coach/oc and dc today.
Warren Seitz was named head coach/offensive coordinator and Dennis Caryl named defensive coordinator.
Now how can anyone really compare the two leagues at this point?
Yes... The IFL (appears) to have its ducks in better alignment than the APFL does after one season.. But just having a website doesn't prove that.
And really... Even as someone who really wants to see the APFL thrive..
How long can you get by on nothing but HOPE??
It is just December... But ... The APFL needs to put up or the Koyotes need to get in a "real" league.
I hope both all the indoor football leagues do well...
I want a USFL style spring league back OR a real NFL2 league.... I want the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl... I want CFL football on every TV set in the USA.... I want 12 great glorious months of football...
OK SANTA... WHAT DO YA SAY??

From an article in the EL Paso Times:
"Dittman said most players would not be paid a salary, but would receive appearance fees at the onset of the league."
This tells me all I need to know about this venture. Enjoy the Intense Football League while you can, folks. It will not be with us for long.
It would seem that Mr. Dittman's reach exceeds his grasp.

I just realized that there is only 5 teams in the IFL. I thought they were gonna be much better, maybe not?

the IFL now has 6 teams...El Paso is on board. The San Antonio franchise will have to wait until '05. As for the thing on paying the players "appearance fees"...that I have never heard of. Supposedly the league is gonna be the second highest paying indoor league, only behind the AFL of course...
