The co-owner of the Rome Gladiators and Rome Knights basketball teams has been in Floyd County Jail since late Thursday night.
According to Floyd County Jail records, Clayton County court records and the Cuyahoga County, Ohio Clerk of Court:
Chiara Yelena Brown, 40, of 105 Venetian Way in Rome was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Thursday on charges of check fraud, giving false statements, forgery in the first degree, giving false name or address to a police officer and being a fugitive from justice in Ohio.
In Ohio, there are two open cases against her charging two counts of theft and one each of forgery and false uttering. She has previously pleaded guilty, and been sentenced, to assaulting a peace officer, felonious assault and theft.
She is also being held to face two outstanding bad check charges in Clayton County, Ga.
This is owner number? that has problems with the law. Lets start counting.
This is the best part, Joe calls one owner in each divsion last week and tells them that they are responsible to do a backround check of the other teams in their divsion. LOL. Would you give your SS# to someone in your divsion saying they are doing a backround check. So what did the owners do about Joes request/ YES SIR we will do it !!! LOL Joe is smart, doesnt cost him a thing and now the owners feel they have taken an active role in the league. LOL AGAIN AMAZING JUST AMAZING The end result, nothing will change, if for some wild reason someone does a backround check and finds something, you think Joe will throw that team out?
