Trying for two weeks now to get a scoop on PBL teams and trying to find out which ABA teams may join. Problem is the new league has confidentiality agreements that potential owners have to sign. If you sign and dont get in you have to remain silent for 1 year on the information that was presented to you. Good for the league, Bad for me.

The bits and pieces I have found out. Looks like for sure Maryland and Rochester are in. Possibly a team from Hartford area. A few ABA teams did apply but were turned down. They will have major national sponsors and I almost had the web designer spill his guts but he caught himself.

Cannot get any more info on the Direct TV deal...all I get is "No comment" which may be a comment since they didnt say NO relationship with PBL.

Lets see what teams will be announced, as they said they would this week.
Curious to see which ABA teams are in.

All of this sounds very interesting. Especially the TV situation. I have DirecTV and would love to be able to see the PBL games. A basketball fan is always a basketball fan. And it would also be interesting to watch the teams that we are already familiar with.

Also would be curious to hear which ABA teams applied and were denied. Good post, A1.

It's better for them not to say a thing until everything is Concrete.
I rather have a league that is holding all plans till they are fully done and executed rather have one that goes around and says we will have this and that and do this and thereforth.

We all know what league we are talking about. The ABA. Did Joe not say they will have their games on ESPN??

He said there would be multiple 50k games. Only one was made and who knows if they did get paid.

Like I said I rather have the PBL stay quiet and shut until they do have all of their plans set in stone.

MLS is an example of a league too eager to make promises to realize, sometimes, silence is golden until everything is in place.

UHL, perhaps?

One could argue about the CBA this past year, as well.

In those cases, I wouldn't call people liars so much as, at least, "wishful." ABA is a different story in my book.
