Good evening my fellow posters. This is my 1st attempt at posting on a message board. I have followed the "minor league basketball" posts on and off for the last few years. All I can say is "wow". I have found the posts here to be informative and positive in most cases. My opinion is that the majority of the posters here want to see the ABA and all minor league basketball be successful and grow. I will try to put "principles before personalities" when I do have a comment.
A bit of background on me. I'm just your average "fan". I am a huge fan of Division III basketball and go to a lot of games in the Rochester and Western NY area.
I have also become a fan of the Rochester Razorsharks and have met a few of the front office personel. They have always been positive and upbeat in bringing a well run and professional organization to our area.
Minor League sports are big here and we have great teams in all the major sports. This town does not accept something run half-assed and the Sharks have gone the extra mile to make thier team successful. My fondest memory will be the afternoon of opening night of last season. My wife and I were shopping at Sams Club and I happen to spot two gentlemen buying sports drinks and towels. I recognized them as Sev and Orest. I approached them and wished them good luck in thier endeavor and thanked them for bringing pro b-ball back to Rochester.
As much as I wanted to see pro basketball return to Rochester, I was skeptical having read bad reviews of the new ABA and I thought that cancelled games with no notice and owners not paying bills was not going to cut it here. The Razorsharks made it work in spite of the ABA. I had hoped that the ABA would learn from it's well run teams.
I must sound like I work for the Sharks but I don't. Good Luck to the Sharks and the PBL and I also hope that the ABA sees the light and turns things around.
