a couple of weeks ago i got a call after emailing about the tryouts for the Fhl i was told that the league would be at par or better then the echl. The guy i spoke to tryed to get me into the camp in edmonton. I have seen for the last year with different tryouts and date changes with this league. Is this a scam league or will it really start.
Also what level does the wha2 compare to or also the sehl is it better then major jr or at par or just any1s opinion would be appreciated.

Well until just recently I was onboard the FHL's supporter wagon. I was really hopeful that John Larsen could pull it off, but I have lost hope. I don't know who you spoke to that claimed they would be ECHL strength, but that is a joke. I would maybe say that the FHL's champion could beat the Allan Cup champs (Canada's Senior Champions, senior=beer league). If the FHL were done properly and was 5 or 6 years old, then I might be able to take the claim, but right now I would doubt it. But I would forget about the FHL and contact scammedfreeagent through the PM feature on this board if Larsen took any of your money. But don't give up your dreams of pro hockey, just realize that it might take playing in some former figure skating rink in Denmark for room and board before you might get a sniff in North America.

As for the WHA2 and the SEHL, I believe they just merged into a new entity called the EHL. As for the quality of play I would say it is probably somewhere around the middle of pack of Canadian Major Junior. Probably akin to watching a Swift Current-Lethbridge game in the WHL. Correct me if I am wrong.

The EHL is the remnant errrr remainder of WHA2, and they are hoping to annex the SEHL teams. They already got Huntsville, so as far as I know (haven't had time to update my reading on this since Friday, and that's probably a good thing), the rest are probably not far behind. Well, Knoxville and Fayetteville may put up a fight.
OTOH, the SEHL supposedly is gaining Alabama from Waronker... but that's from listening to all the 'net rumors. Between these two leagues, virtually anything you hear requires taking a handful of salt with it.

For the love of all things good in the world, DO NOT send a dime to John Larsen or the FHL. This league will not play a game this year and likely NEVER will. There will be no camps just requests for payment. If the money is absolutely burning a hole in your pocket, please donate it to your favourite charity. At least then it will pay for something other than the Larsen family vacations. Had the league started this year, it would have been the equivilant of the Central league.

WHA2 and the SEHL
This is an incorrect posting
SEHL has not merged and an announcement was published at SDN a few weeks ago
