Patchogue, N.Y.- The Strong Island Sound have announced that on Saturday May 5 and Saturday May 12 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, they will be at the Holbrook Costco raising money for Schneider Children’s Hospital of New Hyde Park.

For a $5 tax deductible donation, you can go head-to-head with a member of the Sound in a best out of five 3-point shooting contest. Think you have what it takes? Then come on down and have some fun while doing something for a good cause.

Prizes will include official Strong Island Sound gear, passes to future games, and many other prizes! Also, pictures and autographs will be available the entire time throughout the events.

Schneider Children’s Hospital of New Hyde Park has been serving the Long Island and New York City communities since 1983. The 154-bed facility cares for children worldwide due to its reputation for excellence in pediatric cancer care, cardiology, digestive disorders, and surgery; as well as patients with hemophilia, cystic fibrosis, leukemia and diabetes.

Don’t miss out on a chance to meet and greet players from Long Island’s only professional basketball team. The Strong Island Sound are members of the American Basketball Association and promote a family-friendly and affordable atmosphere.

Thanks. We're doing a big offseason campaign to get out in the communities and have lined up a few dates and events. This is the first. We're hoping with some good exposure we can get more media coverage and attention, which hopefully will result in better attendance.

Another good thing is that the area's minor league baseball team, the Long Island Ducks, just signed a radio deal with 98.5 FM WBZB, which is the same station that carried Sound games. The Ducks are huge out here and being alligned with them in any way is positive.

Patchogue, NY- A beautiful warm spring afternoon was the backdrop for a successful initial 'Shoot With the Pros' event in Holbrook between the Strong Island Sound of the ABA, Costco and Schneider's Childrens Hospital.

Representatives from all three organizations were on hand, and the two players that went up against the fans were none other than Raphael Edwards and Greg Cirillo.

Fans young and old took their turn to see if they have what it takes to go up against the pros. A good time was had by all and the bottom line was money was raised for a very good cause.

If you didn't get a chance to come out or would like another opportunity, you can visit Costco of Holbrook on Saturday, May 12 from 1 pm to 5 pm when the Sound will once again be on hand for the same cause.
