First off. FIBA will never approve the ABA to enter its organization. How Do I know? It's been already talked about. FIBA Americas considers the ABA a joke of a league. They want stable leagues with teams that are financially stable and responsible for their actions. FIBA leagues do not run on gimmicks. They do allow specific court modifications such as for the the CBA, D-League and NBA in regards of the court size. NCAA courts have to be at fiba size which is the size we all know for college basketball. Also Fiba approved leagues with the exception of the NCAA, CBA, NBA, NBDL have to use the FIBA ball. Then there are rules for teams and leagues and players. Refs have to be Fiba approved and also Fiba trained. International Tournaments such as the Tournament of The Americas are FIBA approved and sanctioned along with it being supervised by FIBA. And most importantly you have to be a sanctioned member of an approved national basketball federation (USA Basketball) and USA Basketball is very strict in their guidelines and criteria.
It's been 7 seasons of the ABA. Every year it has gotten worse. Every year all I hear is of Market reservations and Joe's silly so called university classes. His website has even gotten to the point where if you click on that mortgage lender site you know he will get money if you're approved. I'm waiting for the Girls gone wild sponsorship pretty soon on that website.
It's a proven fact that if he cared for the league and not the GREEN he would have set real standards and would have gotten accepted to USA Basketball and then to FIBA. That will not happen when you have teams with mismatched socks. tape on jerseys for numbers. Venues with courts that are not FIBA regulation size sometimes not even NCAA approved size. Teams not submitting stats, rosters, and scores.
Hell go to www.bsnpr. com although its in spanish and I 've been telling these guys to put a page in english because many americans follow the league. You will see roster. standings, stats, transactions, league sponsors, activities, league meetings, rules. league history. Hell even a section to find a players stats from 1954!. I'd be lucky if I find a ABA players stats from 2004.
If I were to go on I'd be writing for days.
