The Laredo Broncos will be holding open tryouts this season just before the season begins. The tryouts will be held on April 28th at Veterans Field in Laredo, Texas, where you can get a chance to try out for a professional baseball team.
The tryout is geared to see who can provide the Broncos with the best chance to win a championship.General Manager Jose Melendez mentioned that this tryout will also be a national tryout too since United League Baseball is not conducting a national tryout this year. "We have players from Japan,Domincan Republic and Venezuela coming down to tryout." Melendez mentioned.
Registration will be at 9:00 am sharp, coming early is recommended, as any good baseball fan knows. The tryouts will begin at 10AM. Broncos Skipper Papo Davila and Broncos GM Jose Melendez will evaluate potential players for his team for the 2007 season. Interested players will need to bring there own equipment to the tryout camp.
The Broncos are also looking for host families to host some players for the 2007 season. Any one interested in hosting a player will receive two free season tickets per player. "Since we are getting many players from other countries it is very important for families to take these players in and make them feel like home. Being thousand miles from home and in a new city is pretty tough. I ask for any family to please host a player for the 2007 season." Melendez mentioned.
This is an opportunity to make an impact in someone's life. Every new baseball season, the Laredo Broncos rely on the generosity of local families to help house some of our players by serving as Broncos Host Families. These families serve an important role by providing a home away from home environment for the ballplayers during the season.
Most host families and players maintain close contact for years.
The Broncos play 50 home games this year with players arriving on April 29th, for spring training and stay in Laredo through the end of the season in late August.
Anyone interested in being a host family or tryout out information, please contact the Laredo Broncos office at 956-723-2273 or email Jose Melendez @ jose@laredobroncos.com.
