Joe says there will be at least 62 teams next season. The owners meeting is this Thursday and Friday. Lets see who can guess how many owners really show up. No entries after 5 pm wednesday. Contestants must meet eligibility
requirements.

Winner gets an ABA franchise and you can fold it or Joe can Suspend you.
You will also get a tee shirt from the apparrel company Joe signed a letter of intent with, Tee shirt will say " Im not with Stupid, I am"

My Guess: 27

I will get the actual owner count !! This does not include coaches, interns and the hotel staff that will be in the room. Game illegal in the following states: Indiana

Unfortunately he thinks this is a blog, so we could be in for a really long summer.

The ABA bashes itself, we just comment on whats going on with it. What kind of Mensa meeting is required for the CEO of a league to keep adding teams when he can't keep half of what they already have?

This league reminds me of my first car, a 1973 Ford Maverick. It leaked oil so badly, I would add 8 quarts a week. I never required an oil change, because the oil was always fresh!! Same thing here. Just keep adding to a problem and it stays fresh!!

Actually for once WHAFAN I almost have to agree with you and commend you on your analogy... anyone who owned one of those old fords with the inline 6 will tell you that you are DEAD ON... but they did run forever that way strangely enough all you had to do is add an oil pressure gauge under the steering column and add oil when you saw the pressure drop as you stepped on the gas...

I do however see some of the concept on continually finding new franchises if you think about it, shoot enough spitballs at the wall and eventually enough will stick for people to notice.

I think you guys finally figured out the contents of Joe's mythical "business plan."

Oops, Joe, I guess the cat is out of the bag. Sorry! I can just see the other pro bball leagues lining up to take this business plan and run with it.

Joe's business plan is to take your dollar and make it his dollar.

What's the over/under on how many threads a1sports will start before we all just tell him he's cool and he gets his ego satisfaction taken care of?

I am setting the line at a dozen. As a matter of clarification, he does know what he is talking about, I am making a crack at various things which Chuck and Paul will appreciate.

As a sports reporter, Chris, you of all people should realize that there are some egos that will never be satisfied.
