thats the very hot rumor for 2008. I even know a coach who was offerred the job. If this is done well, I think it could be nice tie-in with the VooDoo in New Orleans and perhaps the Swashbucklers over in the IFL where I'm at in Lake Charles; sort of a 3-level farm system. Theyd have to be careful with scheduling, esp between the VooDoo and the Baton Rouge team if so.
It would not shock me if Tom Benson had anything to with it.
I checked the stats of the Old Blaze from 2001 on ArenaFan and they werent bad. Ironically I lived in BR at the time but was so busy law school and other personal life issues that I never saw a game (wasnt really a huge Arena fan back then though have always watched it; attended many New Orkleans Night games about 10 years prior, too) though I do recall the advertising in the paper, etc.

according the the Cetrolpex website, they can seat about 8,500 for sporting events, so the numbers of the Blaze werent too bad. Not really sure why the folded though. maybe just nto good enough attendance? any one with more info? this is from wikipedia:

anyone with more info on this hot "rumor"?

I'm pretty sure Lake Charles and the Intense League will not even think of working with the af2.

I'm sure that the IFL would never let themselves be known as the level below the af2. Kind of like in hockey how the UHL and CHL think(for good reason) they are equal to the ECHL, who is considered the premier "AA" league.

af2 and IFL working together, but it would be nice to get Baton Rouge back in af2. Maybe Louisiana would leave IFL for af2, just a thought.

I'm sure you'd like for that to happen. But it won't.
