Joe's opening speech to the 27 owners that will be at the owners meeting.

Lets see how close we can be to what he will spin.

1. He will balme teams folding and owners running out of money on the Doyle and Salley take over attempt.
2. He will balme the playoffs being pure BS on Arkansas and Rochester.
3. He will have GREAT news, what new BS this year, who knows.
4. He will guarantee all games will be played, as he has the past 5 years.
5. He will claim that Rochester was recruiting ABA teams since february to a new league and that affected games and money.
6. He will allow owners to have an owners committee but will never listen to them.
7. He will say that there is a better system than last year to check out new owners.
8.He will say the stock is low because of Doyle and Salley.
9. He will say that over 500 teams applied to be part of the ABA.
10. He will push Bus leasing becuase he gets a kick back on every lease.
11. He will announce that he hired a company to promote the ABA and the sock.
12. He will announce the best owner, ALex of vermont, to say a few words.
13. He will thorw under the bus the old web site company and say it was too hard to navigate it.
14. He will say that the $ 800,000 judgement aganist him is BS.
15. He will say that the Jalosa and Fratella law suit aganist the ABA is BS.
16. He will say he is not woried that shareholders may sue to get money back.
17. He will say that Rochester is Garbage again and the Rocheter owner is no good becuase he didnt loan Joe $ 800,000.
18. He will say he is getting a new president for the league and commissioner.

Rumor on the street is that the Nighthawks are staying in the ABA...without Doyle. Can anyone confirm?

Turned out Doyle is having a really bad year........

He only owned 37% of the Maryland team

The majority ownership told him they would not be jumping to the PBL because there is still a 80% Chance the PBL will never get off the ground as the teams Rochester hoped to land stayed in the ABA as well. They brought up the fact a similiar league called the AAPBL was attempted to start up a few years back and 3 months before the season it folded and that was much, much farther along then the PBL is at this point.

Doyle was aloud to stay on with Maryland but he was told by the other owners of Marlyand that he was not voice any of his opinions about the ABA and if he caused any problems, his power in Maryland would be greatly reduced just as it was by the ABA.

Doyle has been under a lot of heat behind closed doors in the ABA and not from Joe Newman but from the owners of the Vermont Frostheaves and Buffalo Silverbacks.

Alex and Todd are big supporters of the ABA System that is place as of right now , they want to see it tightned up and fine tuned but from a business prespective they like the fact they get to keep all of the money because each ABA team is an individual business and while there is no revenue sharing from that perspective the ABA has put in place revenue sharing for a clothing line including ABA uniforms so now when ever something from that line is purchased a kick back goes directly to the tems no matter who has made the purchase or where it was made.

Doyle wanted to bring down and change everything that they wanted from the ABA.

They brought up the fact a similiar league called the AAPBL was attempted to start up a few years back and 3 months before the season it folded and that was much, much farther along then the PBL is at this point.

The AAPBL was formed by a Joe smell-a-like, Worth Christie, who charged players, if I remember correctly, $1,000 for a training camp in Montana. They would supposedly get their money back if they made the team. It started to fall apart when the arena in Cedar Rapids wanted a hefty deposit up front for each home date. Then paychecks to front office and coaches were missed. There were no buyers for any of the teams, except for Lincoln, which then joined the ABA, but later gave up there when too many teams didn't show up for games.

The Cedar Rapids team was then moved to Hutchinson, Kan., not too far from here.
