I propose an ABA franchise in North Carolina. The Mayberry Sheriffs. The team owners, Andy and Barney have been life long basketball fans. Andy owned an operated a coin op laundry for a little while, while Barney consulted on filling station ownership with Goober, so they have impressive business backgrounds. After the games, the team members can come back to Andy's house for some apple pie fresh out of the oven. Emmit the town handyman can repair the folding chairs if and when anyone ever sits in them. I hear a town nearby, Mt. Pilot has a church gymnasium they can rent. The guy to contact I believe, is named Otis.

Sarah........patch me through to Joe Newman!!!

There is an ABA franchise in North Carolina, the Wilmington Sea Dawgs. And considering that it made it to the ABA Semi-Finals in its first year, perhaps more North Carolina owners would help this league.

Their arch rival would be the Parris Island Bulldogs.

General manager Gomer Pyle, USMC, who also handles the PA duties: "Surprise, surprise, surprise, now in the game, Sgt. Carter. And here come the Bulldog Dancers, led by Bunny."

I would support any pro league in Asheville EXCEPT the scam-filled ABA. We've had enough bad apples with David Waronker, and with the Carolina GhostRiders.
