Video games are cool, but I still like card/dice games. Anyone know of a good indoor (not arena) football board game?
Do we have to make our own?
Yes, I know this request sounds gay but bear/bare with me here.

There certainly is not one available right now. That said, I don't know that it would be that tough to come up with one. Hard to tell, though, especially considering roster turnovers and that sort of thing.

I was toying around with the idea of making a dice game version that runs on your computer (Windows). I would sell a CD version of it at/near some arena on game day. The program would allow you to upload the logos of your two teams to play each other as artwork on the scoreboard. It could be played against another person, or the computer could play both teams or just one, etc. The users select team colors of their helmets, jersey, and pants.
The plays unfold as a series of still pictures (cartoon like or actual still pictures?) with the choosen uniform colors of both teams intact.
Offense selects one of approximately eight play choices. Defense selects one of approximately five choices.
The first picture has the teams lined up for a scrimmage play. Both teams would have the user's preference team colors. The mp3 file would have the voice of a QB barking out the signals.
The second still picture has the offensive executing the first split second of the play.
The third picture (and beyond) will show the artwork of the next moment of the play...until the play ends with the result of the play being displayed (5 yard gain, QB sacked for a loss (or loose as some of you erroneously type), etc.
The yard markers, time clock, etc. get updated on your screen with mp3 files providing crowd noise, etc.
No overwhelming amount of keys to press to move players around. Just something really basic that all you do is select the play and watch the action unfold on your screen. You don't move players around at all. You just watch after selecting your play.
Would you as a fan like something like that for yourself or your son? I could even have "Jim Terry" scenes where players get their lung punctured, brawls, players ejected from the game, kids getting injured in the stands when diving for balls that were thrown or kicked into the stands.
What do you guys think? Again, this is basically a dice/card game that is automated. No complex keyboard strokes.
My preference is the NIFL alignment (pictures of 4 defensive backs plus one linebacker), or the AIFA. If I make it 7 on 7, the CIFL would seek a copyright thing because they are the only 7 on 7 league right now. If I go 8 against 8 no one can claim I'm doing at the expense of any one 8 on 8 league.
I got a compiler I can make this happen.
Comments from the rest of you? Other ideas?

I'd sell it for no more than $10 and not less than $3 each.
Or I'd give copies away for a $5 donation to some burn victims hospital etc. That would be my contribution to society for the day.
I could make the program available for download from my rankings site, too.
Lots of possibilities here.
I could also have cameo appearances from people who are regulars on these message boards to be seen in the crowd (or as players and coaches) if they would send me digitized pictures of themselves from the neck up.
Oh and cheerleader pictures with background music would be a definite must during possession changes. We could even have pictures of t-shirts being shot into the crowd...whatever.
This would sort of be like a South Park episode as far as the artwork is concerned. Someone's real face from the neck up, with a cartoon body from the neck down (picture Mel Gibson in that one South Park episode -- his real face with a cartoon body).

What about a Strat o Matic type game covering all leagues? Or one covering just specific leagues. Now that would be fun.
I'd be interested in a simple computer game like you describe.
As for dice games, here is a board game of Arena football, sold on ebay. I have no idea how good it is, but for old status pro/APBA fans like me, it does look interesting.
