Now this is an oddity if I ever saw one. Considering that there are no boxscores for this game anywhere you have to wonder if it was even played. (There are no people in place for the 'barnstormers' either so I can't imagine how it was played.)
Did anyone attend this game? If so did they play 15 minute periods with no zamboni?

I apologize for having to remove the quote above, but the webmaster of the site from which it was taken has requested that material not be taken from their site. Feel free to give a synopsis of anything you find, but a word-for-word recital is apparently not agreeable to her.

Actually, she can't do that. She has no legal right. The material she releases is now owned by her and thus she has no ownership rights.

Mike Killbreath is probably pulling her strings. He tried to sue everyone in sight with no ground for such action on a regular basis as well. (Assuming they aren't the same person...)

She does own it if she wrote the post, which seems to be the case here, as I can't find it as a team or league release.

Let me set this record staight
This she is me and I am part owner of the web site
The fact of the matter is if you would link to the news articles PERIOD there would not be this hassle.
Articles are written by my staff .
News sites re-write releases which they have ever right to do
Take the news off ESPN,TSN and ************.Net (SDN)
and post it here you are breaking the copyright laws
We have Bots that will find our news posted elsewhere, why because of posters who copy material like is being done here
We have an investment to protect
End of this discussion

actually you are wrong. most of the time your sites just publishes the league media releases without changing them, which gives you no legal ownership rights.

Mr Killbreath, I always figured that you paid off the people from ************. You turned them from skeptic to best friend with a flash of some cash. If you think threatening lawsuits preventing press releases will "protect your investment" then you reap what you sow. The more you try to control the internet the more everyone will simply ignore you and your latest "league" will then go away unheard of and unwanted.

But that is not the case in this article. I've checked the league and the team sites and there isn't a press release for the game.
It does say "Sportz Domain Staff" at the bottom of the article which should have been a tip off. Otherwise it would have said "Press Release".

Here's our stance on press releases. When an organization issues a release, it is meant for dissemination, whether or not it is attributed to someone's staff. Therefore, there is no problem posting press releases here, though it is unnecessary because they appear elsewhere on OSC.
IMO, Big Chris honestly took that post as a press release because that's all the other site had previously posted. OSC respects the rights of other copyright holders and expects them to do the same. Therefore, we removed the story as soon as we were made aware that it was not a release.
No harm, no foul. Let's move on.

The articles that were taken off the web site were not published any where on the internet We did not give permission and did not Release the articles as a web site press release
All Material is copyrighted and is the property of the web site that it is published on
Period.
The problem is the poster who took the infomation without permission
and what is being allowed on this message board as far as someone got caught with their hands in the cookie jar .

Killbreath,
Stop trying to sue everyone in sight. Everyone knows you don't have a case and continuing to persue this matter makes you and your league look stupid. You pulled this crap with InlineHockeyCentral and lord knows how many others but you won't get away with it this time.
Generally people here believe your league is a joke and buying off website operators to tow the line for you makes you look even worse. You aren't impressing anyone here so go home.

hey man i dont know who this killbreath guy is, and i really dont care, all i know is that it was a pretty cool game, we've never had anything like this in my town. we dont even have 15 thousand people here and we have a team, now thats cool. you guys must have some other info, and you know i really done care, shouldnt the games speak for themselves?

I totally agree with hunter's comments about the games speaking for themselves. What I am concerned with, however, is the rift growing between the teams in the league. Athens, Ohio is a ghost town right now, and that includes hockey players. So how is is possible that other teams are playing games?
Where and when did this game take place anyway? And why wasn't it hyped to the max in order to silence some skeptics?

Sorry to disagree. I've written for them in the past and not everything they put up is a press release.

Is it merely a coincidence that the forum for OSC looks and feels EXACTLY like the forum on ************? Something smells fishy.

It's because PHP offers hands down the best forum programming tools on the web!
peetie12
12-03-2003, 09:50 PM
That may be the case. But have you seen the forum on ************? I mean, it is EXACTLY the same, just a different color. Maybe it doesn't mean anything, and frankly I don't care. Just looks fishy is all.
Big Chris

Jim Rome also had a forum that looked exactly like this one. So do litterally thousands of forums on the internet. In the Crease also has a forum like this, are we all stealing from them?
The owners of OSC have every right to put the forum of their choice on their website. OSC was around long before ************ and will be around long after they are gone.

That is a very interesting point. Why indeed?
The iihl has shown so much arrogance towards the fans and media that it's almost like they want to exist, make money and draw fans without the following:
- Any media coverage or scrutiny.
- Player salaries.
- Coaches, managers or very many players unless they pay their own way.
- Discussion about it on the net AT ALL.
And Killbreath wonders why he has never gotten a league off the ground. (The XHI or Great Lakes IHA anyone?) Threats of lawsuits won't save you this time pal...

Truth be told, there is information out there somewhere regarding the player's salaries. I have seen it, although I forget the address. It was on the "committment card" I signed.

Killbreath (YOU) is listed as Ice Cats' President, IIHL President, and Sales and Marketing. Which one is it?
Last time I checked, nobody here, (including me,) ever once attacked a player of this league.

But that forum was up prior to this forum. In the past OSC used Cold Fusion to produce their pages. Recently, and far more recently then SDN, they switched to PHP, which seems to be the more popular package of choice. SDN (SDC) had been using PHP prior to their most recent site change.
So if anyone is copycatting anyone, it's OSC following SDN's lead.

We have partnered with Infinity Pro Sports to bring you the new OurSports Central. Infinity has created dozens of minor league team websites. It just so happens that they use php, and that language's most popular forum option, phpbb. You don't have to look far on the web to find a message board powered by phpbb. We didn't have to copy anyone as that was the option supplied to us, and we are very pleased with it.

the game up here was pretty well hyped up, lots of news coverage on tv, and in the paper. dont know about any rifts, but the barnstormers got beat down. i will say it again, the game was really fun, cheerleaders, oh yeah! very nice girls  i was told there is a press conference in ohio today, hope it works out for you all.
peetie12
12-06-2003, 11:43 AM
What I heard in the press conference was the the Predators put on a "goon league" type show in that exhibition game. The IIHL is going to have a real hard time finding players willing to play in a goon league; I'm certainly not going to be a part of it.

well what do you expect? this league, if it's even a league still, is a joke and will only attract gong show players!!!! just like the sehl and the achl last year
Big Chris
12-06-2003, 12:37 PM
What do you expect from a league owned by Mike Killbreath? This is how he tried to build his failed roller hockey leagues and with this short lived CEHL team. Look at how he behaves when it comes to bullying everyone on the net and it filters down to the teams he ices. Anyone who expects anything different from this guy is delluding themselves.

was told the preds lost to lansing last night in lansing, going to the game tonight. i wouldnt say its a goon league, hard to be a goon when you put up that many points dont you think? its preseason man, gimmie a break. people should stop whining and just go to a game then make your decision. cant jusge a product until you use it.

How can we go to a game when we don't know where they are. Still no schedules posted, still no contacts, still dead links, still no response to emails begging for a schedule of even scrimmage games, nothing that says how to purchase a ticket or even where. I would attend a game if I knew where they being played. So until that time, I guess all we can do is whine, because that is what the league is forcing us to do, as we sure as heck don't for.

I was at the games on the weekend and I think they were great.
A few of the fans were upset at the fights but that is part of hockey so they better get over it. I had a great time. We travel for these games and it is well worth the trip. I am looking forward to a great winter going to these games.
Keep up the hard work Predators. And your jerseys are awesome. I here you will be in the soo on the 19th and the 26th.
We'll be there to watch and cheer.

Bumping this post to show that Big Mike originally claimed to be the owner of SDN. Now you claim to be a hockey player who's brother played in the iihl. What a crock.
