Now the season is over. If you cant read then you will be back in the ABA. For those who have a brain and have read everything they could about the ABA, How could you join it? and the existing teams, lets see if you leave it?

Talk with anyone who knows basketball and they wil tell you that you should run from the ABA, unless you arer getting a salary like Joe, Dick and Darren and Brad.

Joe will promise the world at the owners meeting. The past 5 champions that left will be called dirt. Doyle wil be called scum, Salley trash. Rochester garbage.

Joe will razzale -dazzle you ! Look at the new policy in checking out owners and we will make 100% of our games etc etc. The league has a stink to it now, with or with out Joe. And your reason for staying is???? Who will leave ASAP?

Let's stop taking shots a cglue. He's just trying to be loyal and protect his investment. He also has the courage to get on these boards and interact with people.

I think Joe has been a disaster. The ABA would be much better off if he weren't leading it.

Personally, I disagree with cglue, but respect him for standing up.

So enough of the personal shots at people - we're all here for the same reason - we love minor basketball.

Enough of this. We can disagree with each other without insulting each other. Let's clean up the discussion.

Its been proven that ABA teams can be successful despite Joe Newman and the regular antics...so if the league doesn't get shut down by the sec...then there is a place for owners like cglue who aren't big enough for the other more legitimate leagues.

Vermont, Rochester, Maryland, Quebec, Arkansas Rimrockers, Jacksonville are examples of teams who've been successful on and off the court despite the ABA antics and Joe Newman.

You claim to be a savvy investor. I say your loyalty may end up damaging your investment. I also say be prepared to bail out to save your team.

Anyway, I'm not really sure Joe appreciates your loyalty (he never struck me as the type, struck me more as the type who pats your back when you hug to find a good place to stick the "you know what")

You talk down on me because why, Im not narrow minded. Look, its easy to bail on something when things are bad and doesnt look good. But Im not that breed bro, you talk down on me because I have vision and you dont. Make sure you give yourself a chance to make things better because if you dont then you dont have confidence to be somebody. Ride with me when I need you not when its convenient for you.

Trust me, I want your team to succeed as much as these other guys.

But I bet you won't say the same thing when next year's ABA season is over!

We're saying that as long as Joe calls the shots, change will not happen and things will not get better. We're just a little more pragmatic and realistic than you because we've seen this happen the last couple of years.

(Oh look, there I go "hatin" again. Just can't get into the Pollyannish "support them because they try and have a dream" game.

Peoplae on stated in another thread that the season wasnt even going to last or even be a season but here we are talking about what next season is going to be like. Dont have a problem with you wanting to step down but the only problem that I really see are owners not stepping up and supporting the league and the system. I dont think we need a commisioner, but make sure its someone from within and not just a name. Someone who understands some of the struggles and can address those isues and turn them into positives. It will take at least 2 years I think inmy opinion for us to get on track and will take this year to make that move in that direction.
