I don't know if this is what one poster on an ECHL thread was referring to.
That's REALLY intriguing. The LA Kings own Manchester, possibly the most profitable team in the AHL. Perhaps they want to sell and see an AHL team close to home?
Thing is, this probably requires 4 or 5 teams making the same commitment at the same time if this is going to work. Figure Colorado, Anaheim, San Jose, Phoenix, and Vancouver at least have to be in on anything like this. I know Vancouver would do anything short of kill to put their AHL team in Victoria. I don't know if the other teams share this vision. Sounds like this has been the issue of a tug-o-war at least once or twice. Getting that many teams to coordinate is the big problem lacking an easy solution.
