A picture is worth a thousand words. Surely, somebody took photos that include a crowd shot. Should be very easy to tell the difference between 1500 and 5000+.

Most of the reports I've seen indicate the higher number is probably more accurate.

That's reasonable.

there is no doubt there is a Big following with the Guard...

BUT>>> Who gives a rip how many were at the pre season game?? It only matters how many keep coming back when the team plays the whole season when the tickets are not free. The bottom lines is all teams must keep the fans coming back when the tickets cost something. That is when you know who your true fans are .. The ones who PAY and keep coming to the games.

Best of luck to the Guard and their Rabid Fan base....

Nothing is more valuable to a team than its fan base. The guard is a good example. Although i personally do not agree with somethings your fans are proud of doing, it works for you and gets people excited and in the seats and in the end that is all that matters, who is in the seats.

To have a fan base that gets other people to attend and become part of that fan base is PRICELESS to a team... Free pub is what its about. I know the Rage has to work hard to get fans in the seats. They compete with the Blues, i know they suck, but we still compete with them and then there is a little team called the CARDNIALS..... It is a tough market but they are getting there.

So if your a fan of whatever team the best thing you can do for that team is spread the word and get other fans to come...

OO, glad to see you are still on here as well as others (Ragefan, and Finatic). The picture, if you have not been there yet was on the Guard site I think, Tuesday. Anyhow, the Crown holds about 11,000 or so. The upper deck, which is not shown, has about 4,000 seats I think, leaving the lower with the rest. I was there and would have to say at least 5,000 were at the game if not a bit more, but it really doesn't matter unless they come back. I hope they do and make several teams hate playing in F'ville due to a hostile crowd.

Ragefan, not only do you have to compete with other teams for fans but I hope that you get a better playing surface. Last year it was terrible, little to no lettering, torn, and the seams were coming apart. I am not sure where or if your team is playing this year but some improvemnts need to be made. Good luck to you.

Finatic, can't wait to see you man, after the trash you talked about Guard Fans in general on the other thread/board. Look not just for Mr G.J. but GN could show up anywhere, why I might be GN, or you, or anyone, I guess "only the Shadow Knows". As always, in case you have forgotten, GO GUARD!!!!!! That was for everyone to include billm75.

The rage is at the mercy of the Family arena ... They own the turf.. They would love new turf but they are dealing with an arena owned by the city... So naturally no funds for new turf....
