Does anyone know if there have been baseball card sets issued for any independent leagues?

You can find baseball card sets for ALL the teams in the Northern League.
Most Tx/La league teams issued a set as well as the CBL. They are usually gameday giveaways and then a few hundred are available for sale in merchandising. So usually a limited supply. The Amarillo team made the set part of their gameday program so you had to attend certain games to get a complete set. Sometimes they're listed on Ebay, most often you have to surf the team sites and discussion board to ask fans for help.

Northern League teams have produced dozens of card sets since 1993. Some of them are truly collectible such as the '97 (http://www.nlfan.com/stpaul/cards/saintcards97.shtml) and '98 (http://www.nlfan.com/stpaul/cards/saintcards98.shtml) Saints J.D. Drew cards or the '97 Goldeyes set (http://www.nlfan.com/winnipeg/cards/goldeyecards97.shtml) with Jeff Zimmerman. The '96 (http://www.nlfan.com/stpaul/cards/saintcards96.shtml) Saint set also has cards for both Darryl Strawberry and Jack Morris.
Most of these are no longer avilable from the teams that produced them. I don't have any to sell either.
To review samples of all 12 seasons of Northern League cards start see the nlfan main collectibles page (http://www.nlfan.com/collectables/) and the East collectibles page (http://www.nlfan.com/collectables/east.shtml/) ('99-'02) which includes cards from the old Northeast League prior to the (temporary) merger with the Northern League.[/b]
